Tucked away in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, Rosenlaui is one of Switzerland’s most enchanting hidden gems. Surrounded by towering peaks, dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and pristine alpine landscapes, it feels like stepping into a storybook. The journey to Rosenlaui is an experience in itself. Winding mountain roads lead through lush valleys and dense forests before revealing breathtaking views of glaciers, rugged mountains, and traditional Swiss scenery. 🌿 What makes Rosenlaui so special is its untouched natural beauty. Far from the crowds of Switzerland’s more famous destinations, it offers a peaceful escape where nature takes center stage. 💦 One of the highlights is the spectacular Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge, where rushing water has carved deep channels through the rock over thousands of years. Walking through the gorge, surrounded by waterfalls and towering cliffs, feels both humbling and magical. 🏔️ Everywhere you look, the scenery is stunning—snow-dusted peaks, green alpine meadows, crystal-clear streams, and dramatic mountain landscapes that seem straight out of a postcard. 📸 My favorite moment was simply standing in the valley, breathing in the fresh mountain air while admiring the majestic Swiss Alps surrounding me. It was one of those rare travel moments where words simply aren’t enough. ✨ Rosenlaui is a reminder that some of Switzerland’s greatest treasures are found beyond the usual tourist trail. 📍 Rosenlaui, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland 🇨🇭 “Some places impress you with beauty. Rosenlaui leaves you in awe of nature.” ✨ #Rosenlaui #Switzerland #SwissAlps #BerneseOberland #MountainViews #TravelPhotography #TripMoments #Tripcom #NatureLovers #HiddenGem #Wanderlust #TravelMemories #ExploreSwitzerland #AlpineParadise

Finally, the all-new Titlis Tower is open, so I immediately finalized my summer Switzerland itinerary! Last time I went to Europe alone for an art tour, but this time I'm bringing my kids and my best friend's family to really experience Switzerland in depth 🇨🇭. When you come to the Alps, you have to head to the top of a snow-capped mountain. The kids want to run freely in the meadows, and we are looking forward to the magnificent glaciers. For this trip, we chose the newly opened Titlis Tower. Taking the three-stage cable car slowly upward, the scenery changes layer by layer along the way. The lush green mountain meadows slowly transition to vast, snow-white glaciers. The visual impact of experiencing two seasons in one day moved both the adults and the children. After arriving at the summit, we walked into the Titlis Tower. The open observation deck offers a 360° view of the rolling snow-covered mountains. In our leisure time, we could sit at Joseph’s Restaurant, looking up at the snow-capped peaks and down at the clear blue lakes. We could also browse the Rolex boutique to keep a memento of our mountain trip. The memory of gazing at the Alps from here a few years ago came flooding back ⛰️ Visiting Titlis in spring and summer, you can still experience unique snow and ice activities: · Titlis Rotair 360° rotating cable car · Ice Flyer · Glacier Park (open annually from May 29 to July 15) · Glacier Cave ✅ Outfit tips: The temperature at the summit is low, so bring a light down jacket. At the foot of the mountain, wear short sleeves with a sun-protective shirt, as the temperature difference between day and night is huge. ✅ Complete route reference: Take a train from Lucerne to the town of Engelberg → transfer to the cable car to reach the summit of Mount Titlis → arrive at the summit and visit the newly opened Titlis Tower (observation deck/Joseph’s Restaurant/Rolex boutique) → experience glacier activities as desired, and you can arrange a short mountain hike. ✅ Itinerary suggestion: Reserve at least half a day so you don't have to rush, and take your time to soak in the atmosphere of the snow-capped mountains. ✅ Tips: The opening status of various snow and ice facilities may be adjusted due to weather and safety factors. It is recommended to check the latest operating information on the official website before you travel. Who could refuse a landmark at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, the Titlis Tower! It's already on my Switzerland travel bucket list. Friends planning to go to Switzerland, why not search for "Titlis Tower" on Trip.com, check the tickets and transportation, and save this mountain travel guide.

Day 5 in Switzerland: Climbing Mount Titlis 🏔️! Taking the 360-degree rotating cable car up the mountain really felt like stepping into a dreamland above the clouds. We specifically took the outdoor stairs to the 5th-floor observation deck, and the cloud sea and snowy peaks were so close and breathtaking that I wanted to stop and take a photo with every step! 🎢 Must-Try Challenges: Titlis Cliff Walk: A suspension bridge at 3,040 meters above sea level. It’s super exhilarating to walk across, and sometimes naughty tourists will even shake the bridge on purpose—definitely a must-try for the brave! For even more excitement, you can take the Ice Flyer glacier chairlift to the Glacier Park for some snow sliding, or head to Lake Trübsee for a row on the water. When I visited in October, the snow area wasn't fully open, so the accessible area was a bit limited (mostly the observation deck and a small part of the snow field), but the scenery is still absolutely worth the trip. There weren't many people on the observation deck that day, and taking photos was smooth—until we encountered something unpleasant. A couple who arrived later kept shooing away the people around them just to get their perfect solo shots. At popular attractions, everyone should be considerate of one another. If you don't want strangers in your photos, you should wait patiently for a gap instead of selfishly pushing people out. Let’s all be polite travelers and not behave like that!

The journey kicks off the moment the cable car lifts off from Engelberg 🚡— gliding silently above the valley floor and hitting you with those ultimate Swiss mountain vibes! As you climb higher, forests shrink into tiny green dots and rooftops disappear under a massive blanket of snow. The air gets sharper, the peaks seem closer, and your excitement levels go 📈— this ride literally takes you right into the heart of the Swiss Alps, heading for Trübsee, Stand, and finally the Insta-famous summit of Titlis! Our Titlis adventure started in Engelberg (Address: Klosterstrasse 3, 6390 Engelberg, Switzerland; Cable car hours: 8:30am–5:00pm), rolling through Trübsee and Stand before landing at Switzerland’s snowy superstar: Titlis. Trübsee: The Ultimate Winter Playground ❄️ After leaving Engelberg, our first stop was Trübsee (Trübsee, 6390 Engelberg—super easy to find from the cable car station). The lake was frozen and coated with a thick layer of snow, while every tree looked like it got dunked in powdered sugar! The weather was perfect for snow fun, so we just had to play in the winter wonderland. With that icy lake, snow-wrapped woods, and the towering peaks all around, Trübsee felt like something straight out of a snow globe. If you’re feeling sporty, there are marked winter hiking and snowshoe trails here—perfect for chill strolls or wild snowy adventures. Stand: Lunch Goals with Epic Views 🏔️ Next up was Stand (Stand Station, 6390 Engelberg; accessible via cable car), where the scene got even more dramatic. Mountain views were totally next-level! Opening hours for all the top attractions (cable car, Cliff Walk, Glacier Cave): 8:30 AM—5:00 PM. (Address: QCGG+PQ, 6390 Engelberg) Practical TIPS❄️ · Mountain weather changes fast, so wearing a windproof and waterproof jacket plus sunglasses is highly recommended (the snow glare is real). · The Glacier Cave is slippery; anti-slip shoes or snow boots are a must. · The Ice Flyer might pause operations during high winds, so keep your itinerary flexible. · The UV rays up on the mountain are intense—don't forget your sunscreen! · The suspension bridge and Glacier Park are open in both winter and summer. You might not be able to ski in the summer, but snow tubing is still a blast! · The Titlis Panorama Restaurant has a killer location, so remember to bring enough cash or a credit card for food and drinks. Transportation Guide We recommend taking a train from Zurich to Engelberg Station. From there, it's just a 10-minute walk to the Titlis cable car station. The three-stage cable car ride to the summit takes about 40 minutes and is available year-round (though the snowy season is definitely the most scenic). This itinerary is bursting with epic scenery and is perfect for a day trip. Alternatively, you can stay a night in the town of Engelberg to catch the stunning mountain sunset or the morning sea of clouds.

#hellohalloween Hidden deep in the Bernese Oberland, Gelmersee (Lake Gelmer) is a breathtaking alpine reservoir celebrated for its surreal turquoise waters and pristine mountain surroundings. Originally constructed in the 1920s for hydroelectric purposes, it has since become one of Switzerland’s most photogenic and adventurous mountain destinations. The journey begins with the iconic Gelmerbahn — Europe’s steepest open-air funicular — climbing at a dizzying 106% gradient. As you ascend, views of cascading waterfalls, rugged cliffs, and deep valleys unfold beneath your feet. The brief but thrilling ride alone is worth the trip, but what awaits at the top is even more magical. At 1,850 meters above sea level, Gelmersee sits cradled among granite peaks, its glacier-fed waters shimmering in shades of blue that seem almost otherworldly. A circular hiking trail around the lake (about 2 hours) takes you across rocky ledges and streams, with endless photo opportunities at every turn. The reflection of the surrounding mountains on a still day is pure alpine perfection. Admission & Practical Info Access to the lake is free, but a ticket is required for the Gelmerbahn, which operates seasonally from late May to October (weather dependent). Warm clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended, as temperatures can stay cool even in midsummer. Why It’s Worth Visiting Gelmersee offers the perfect mix of thrill, tranquility, and natural beauty. The combination of the funicular ascent and the serene lake hike creates a uniquely Swiss adventure — one that captures both adrenaline and awe. Final Thoughts Gelmersee is not just a destination; it’s a feeling — that rush of wonder when the sky meets the lake in a seamless mirror of blue. For nature lovers and photographers alike, it’s a place that embodies the soul of the Alps.

As a Seattleite who just started her first real job, saving up PTO for this trip was a journey in itself, but I finally made it to Europe! I wanted to see as much as possible in a week, so I put together a pretty fast-paced itinerary covering Germany, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and Switzerland. Since I love planning, I spent weeks researching the food scene and logistics. Here is my honest breakdown of how it actually went, including the weather, the crowds, and (most importantly) the best old-school food spots I found. ### The Vibe & Logistics First, the weather: I went in August, and it was a bit of a shock. Coming from Seattle, I’m used to mild summers, but Central Europe was hot during the day (easily mid-80s) and cooled down quite a bit at night. Definitely pack a light windbreaker and a portable umbrella. For getting around, trains are super convenient between places like Vienna and Budapest, but the popular spots like Hallstatt and Charles Bridge in Prague get incredibly crowded by 10 AM. If you want photos without a hundred strangers in them, you have to wake up early. ### Prague & Budapest (Days 1-4) Prague is beautiful but packed. I walked the Charles Bridge at 7:30 AM, and even then, there were already people out. After hiking up to Prague Castle, I bypassed the touristy trdelník stands and went straight to U Parlamentu, a traditional Czech pub in the Old Town. I got the beef goulash with bread dumplings—it was incredibly rich, comforting, and surprisingly cheap. In Budapest, the Parliament building at night is absolutely jaw-dropping. For food, you have to visit the Central Market Hall. I queued at a tiny stall on the second floor for Lángos (fried flatbread topped with garlic water, sour cream, and cheese). It’s greasy and heavy, but so worth the calories. ### Vienna & Hallstatt (Days 5-6) Vienna feels very grand and classical. I did the grand tour of Schönbrunn Palace, which was gorgeous but had almost no shade in the gardens, so wear sunscreen! For my food pilgrimage, I went to Figlmüller, which has been serving schnitzel since 1905. I highly recommend booking a table weeks in advance. The pork schnitzel is literally bigger than the plate, thin, and perfectly crispy. Hallstatt is just as picture-perfect as the postcards, but honestly, the crowd level was overwhelming. I took the classic photo at the viewpoint and then found a quiet spot by the lake to just breathe. ### Mount Titlis, Switzerland (Day 7) We wrapped up the trip heading into Switzerland to see Mount Titlis. Going from hot summer weather in the valleys to freezing temperatures in the glacier caves was wild. I wore my heaviest layers and was still shivering, so don't underestimate the mountain altitude! ### Quick tips for first-timers: 1. **Passports & Visas:** Keep physical photocopies of your passport in a separate bag just in case. 2. **Outlets:** Don't just bring one European adapter. Bring a multi-port USB block so you can charge your phone, portable charger, and camera all at once at night. 3. **Shoes:** Leave the cute heels at home. The cobblestones in Prague and Vienna will absolutely ruin your feet if you aren't wearing supportive sneakers. It was a whirlwind of a week and my feet are still sore, but getting to experience all these historic spots (and historic meals) made every bit of planning worth it!
