Obi Castle Town is an old castle town where the supreme ruler of the former Obi Domain once lived. We changed into kimonos and walked through the streets of Obi Castle Town as if we were traveling back in time. Obi Castle Town has retained most of its original buildings. The walls and tiles are very contemporary, and it is known as the "Little Kyoto of Kyushu". The reason is that it has a charming stone wall and architectural style that symbolizes a samurai residence, and it has a streetscape that resembles the Edo period. In the center of the street is Obi Castle. Although it is small in size, visitors can admire the Obi cedar forest and visit the samurai residences that have been restored based on historical facts. It’s a pity that the weather was not very good that day. If we came here during the cherry blossom season or the red leaf season, the photos we took would definitely be extremely beautiful. The next stop is Nichinan Sun Garden. Here you can see the only fully-replica Moai statues in the world approved by the Easter Island Council of Elders, as well as unobstructed sea views. On clear days, the Pacific Ocean and the Moai statues merge into one. I went to Hon, To, an unmanned second-hand bookstore in Abutsu Shopping Street, Nichinan City! It's open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and all the books in the store are donated. You pay by spinning a gachapon machine, and you can leave a message on the store's board introducing your favorite book or your thoughts about visiting Nichinan City. This was a place I couldn't miss on my trip to Miyazaki. I really wanted to see this Moai statue. The weather was good, so the view was great, and of course the Moai statues were great too. The colorful Voyages were also funny and fun. However, the admission fee (800 yen) may be a bit high. I went to Udo Shrine in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It is a rare shrine with its main hall inside a cave at Udozaki Cape. You can access it by car or bus. If you take the bus, it takes a while for the next bus to arrive, so I recommend checking the time before you go! There is also a legend that if you throw a stone called an untama and it lands in a square shape of a rock, your wish will come true. Give it a try and see if you have any luck! #shrine
