After the photoshoot, you can keep the costume on and walk around in it until 5:00 PM. 💶 The total cost for the costume rental, makeup, hair, and photoshoot was 7,900 Russian Rubles or 110 💲USD. I’m sharing a review of the Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel, where my mom and I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days during our mother-daughter trip to Bangkok in the rainy season. The location was fantastic, keeping us completely dry! We stayed in the Superior Skyline Twin room (breakfast included). [Location] I highly recommend this incredibly convenient 5-star hotel! It’s directly connected to the BTS station, offering peace of mind even during Bangkok's frequent squalls. You won't have to worry about getting wet in the rain or carrying heavy suitcases up the stairs. Moreover, it’s connected to two shopping malls where you can enjoy Japanese food at places like Ootoya and Katsuya. There's also a Lotus's supermarket (open until midnight) which is perfect for souvenir shopping✨ We even spotted a Chatramue, famous for its Thai tea~ Another great perk is having a Big C (supermarket) just a 7-minute walk from the hotel! Just a 5-minute walk away, there's a large 7-Eleven with a currency exchange counter and a café inside, offering an excellent selection of goods. [Airport Access] 1 hour by train [Breakfast] A breakfast buffet is available every morning from 6:30 to 10:30 AM at the breakfast venue on the 7th floor. The spread includes a salad bar, various fruits, fresh honeycomb, yogurt, cereal, cheese, cold cuts, dim sum, Western food, Japanese food, Thai food, sweets, breads, and drinks. There's also a made-to-order noodle counter and an egg station for boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, and omelets—all cooked fresh to your order! [Room & Amenities] The room was clean and completely bug-free. Toothbrushes, cotton swabs, and shower caps are provided! Bottled water is also restocked daily♪ The shower and toilet are separated by a partitioned door, so water doesn't leak out. The shower's water pressure and temperature, as well as the hair dryer's power, were all excellent. ⚠️ The room was chilly, perhaps because the air conditioning is centrally managed by the hotel. Turning off the AC made it much better. You might be able to fix it depending on how you adjust the controls. Though small, the Ubud Palace features exquisite architectural details, and you can catch local dance performances in the evening. If you enjoy markets, the Ubud traditional market offers plenty of handmade crafts—remember to bargain! I recommend trying the local dirty duck dish. The skin is crispy, the meat tender, and it pairs perfectly with spicy sauce. Jimbaran Beach Jimbaran’s sunset truly lives up to its reputation! 🌅 At dusk, the beach fills with dining tables. Even if you don’t surf, lying on the beach soaking up the sun or renting a beach chair to relax is very enjoyable. The nearby commercial streets are bustling with food, drinks, and entertainment. If Kuta feels too noisy, Seminyak next door is quieter, with many designer shops, unique cafes, and boutique hotels—great for shopping, dining, and soaking up the local trendy vibe. Nusa Lembongan You can reach Nusa Lembongan by speedboat from Bali’s main island. The water is as clear as a blue sapphire 💧. The “Devil’s Tear” is a must-see spot. While safety is important, the waves crashing against the rocks and spraying water is spectacular. When I was in Thailand, Cambodia wasn't even part of my itinerary, it was supposed to be just a quick trip across the border. A few hours after leaving Thailand, everything felt different: roads, architecture, atmosphere and even the pace of life. Cambodia isn't as polished as Thailand—and that's exactly what makes it so fascinating. 💡 Interesting fact: Cambodia is home to Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. The temple is so important to the country that it even appears on the Cambodian flag. 🚍 Getting there is easier than you think If you're staying in Pattaya, Cambodia is only a few hours away. Most people cross through the Poipet border, either on an organized tour or independently. The drive usually takes 3–4 hours, depending on traffic and the border crossing. If you're traveling from Bangkok, buses and minivans leave throughout the day. From Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui, flying to Siem Reap (usually via Bangkok) is the most convenient option. 💡 If you're crossing the border on your own, try to leave early in the morning. The queues are usually much shorter. 🛕 Angkor Wat is even more incredible than you imagine We've all seen the photos, but standing in front of Angkor Wat is something completely different. What amazed me most wasn't its size… it was the history. The temple was built in the 12th century, when the Khmer Empire was one of the most powerful civilizations in Southeast Asia. Originally dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, it later became a Buddhist temple and remains the largest religious monument in the world. What's even more impressive is that the entire Angkor complex covers more than 400 km². This isn't just one temple, it's an entire ancient city hidden among the jungle. Don't stop at Angkor Wat and also visit: 🌿 Ta Prohm — where enormous tree roots seem to swallow the ruins. You might recognize it from the movie Tomb Raider. 😊 Bayon Temple — famous for its hundreds of giant stone faces that seem to follow you wherever you walk. 💡 A few local tips 🌅 Sunrise at Angkor Wat is famous... but so is the crowd. If you don't mind skipping sunrise, arrive around 8:30–9:00 AM. Most tour groups have already moved on, and you'll enjoy the temples much more peacefully. 🧣 Carry a light scarf or thin shirt. Even if it's 35°C outside, you'll need to cover your shoulders when entering some temples. 🥤 Freeze a bottle of water the night before. Atta Lakeside Resort @ Khao Yai · The accommodation features a lush atmosphere with lake and mountain views. It feels incredibly refreshing when it rains. The room is massive! The living room is separated from the bedroom, and the bathroom is super spacious with a bathtub. · I stayed in a 1st-floor room with a front patio and a walkway leading out around the lake. It's absolutely perfect for anyone who loves taking in the view! (The view in the photo is from Building 9). · The buffet breakfast offers a huge variety of food. Fried rice, Thai dishes, American breakfast, rice porridge, bread, desserts, fruits, and salads—they have every food station covered. I really enjoyed it! · The hotel has several buildings but still feels quite private. Even with a lot of people, it’s not chaotic at all. The staff are lovely, always smiling, and very helpful.
