The only regret was staying there for just one night, wish we had stayed longer. Will definitely choose to stay at Luganodante again if we are back. Thank you team! IMPORTANT TIP: please take the funicular - Lugano Città - from the Lugano Stazione to the hotel (just stop outside the hotel, very convenient). If feeling adventurous, proceed to enjoy the walk/hike down to the hotel from the station.

The hotel is newly opened, and there is an opening party on the day I came. The new hotel, the facilities are good. Give it a first review, attach some details for your reference. There is no boiling kettle, everyone remembers to bring a bottle of water to drink 😏

The arrival is unwelcoming and impersonal. We didn’t even get a smile, much less any information to the amenities. I was then sent on an odyssey to find the room down a confusing maze of corridors, overly decorated with scores of faux Roman busts. The room itself was a very good size but the decor faded and scratched. The carpet stained, the air con noisy. One of the chairs was broken. The style is smart late 1980’s, certainly not to current styles. There is a peculiar little kitchenette but without anything to make use of it. Not even a kettle, much less any complimentary coffee or tea which I would expect at the price. On the first night we slept on pillows that were hard like bags of flower, the second night I requested softer pillows which were provided. There isn’t a shower, merely a shower attachment in the bath and flimsy plastic cups instead of proper glasses for toothbrushes. The breakfast was included and is standard Swiss buffet, adequate but nothing special. Especially the reconstituted catering scrambled egg was disappointing. What makes this hotel, is the beautifully kept garden and well maintained pool area. But generally speaking, I feel this is quite overpriced and not good value for money.

The hotel has a homey feel. It is quite large for a solo traveler. The hotel is located at the center - train station is quite accessible too via the funicular. Breakfast was fine. Though one has to book the time as the space is quite small and that social distancing is practiced. Masks are required while taking the food. Staff is very approachable and helpful, and can speak English so it was quite easy to communicate.

Excellent in all! Absolutely wonderful location (only accessible with taxi) whether day or night! A wonderful DeLuxe room with sea view! The size, the materials of highest quality and finest design. Eat excellent in the Bistro, since full booked in the restaurant! Unfortunately only one night a.Gr. of much work also in Lugano (visit a super performance in the art and culture center). The fitness/sauna was unfortunately closed, but private spa was bookable before departure Sunday morning ... good alternative. The gardens around the sky! The team was super professional, extremely friendly and helpful. Good and dream of my next visit to Villa Leopold ...Heartly recommended for enjoying the fine and good ... Denise Worlds in Zurich

Wonderful hotel. Conveniently located: near bus stops, within walking distance of the supermarket migros and denner (it is worth considering that they close early enough), if you do not have time to shop, you can go to the minimarket at the gas station. There is air conditioning, a kitchen with everything you need, a table and chairs, so you can have dinner in your room. There is no TV, it is, in principle, not particularly needed. We liked everything, I recommend the hotel

This hotel has pluses and minuses. I booked it for the price and Lake view. Most to the reviews here are correct in some ways. The old owner does walk around smoking a cigar (mostly in the restaurant downstairs), and his baby photos are everywhere. It's a bit creepy. However, we found our room to be very clean and comfortable AND we had a balcony with the promised lake view which was spectacular! We also had a bathtub, which you don't find often in the mid-range hotels. It was clean and the water nice and hot, although the drain didn't work well. The thick glass doors kept the noise out at night and we slept well. We found the hotel perfectly safe. Good thing we didn't read the rest of these reviews before booking! I wouldn't recommend Lord Tillingdon's restaurant below the hotel however; the food and wine were so-so and too expensive for what we got.

Positive: The building is very stoic and impressive. Personell is very friendly Negative: We booked a suite and we could hear the people next door showering and watching TV My wife booked a pregnancy Massage and was taken in 10 minutes late and let go 10 minutes to early (rip off!!) We were twice seated in the middle of the room, where no privacy has had to be had. Other people sat all around of you! Portions of all food are VERY small, for the price you are paying absolutely not worth it. Quality was okeyish (we were there two nights and ate breakfast and dinner there) Suite was kinda smelly and there was watter damage on the ground (suite has a jacuzzi) Luckily part of the trip was paid by a third party, otherwise i had felt ripped of very hard. You pay premium and recieve budget!

The rooms are very nice and the environment is beautiful. Sitting on the balcony of the room, listening to birds, drinking a little wine, and admiring the lights of Lugano Lake and the mountain homes on the opposite side, it is really a treat. The room is equipped with an electric kettle, shampoo, and shower gel. You need to bring your own dental appliances and slippers.

A luxury hotel with an ancient style, good maintenance in a public area, we stayed in the ancient building, a clean room but furniture needs updating. Breakfast is a wonderful meal but without vegetables, very limited for such a luxury hotel, the staff is great, we had dinner not so special for the prices.

Superbe personnel, serviable et d’une grande gentillesse. Notre séjour étais vraiment top. Super chambre, très propre et moderne. L’hôtel est calme et l’ambiance y est paisible. Le déjeuné a volonté au top ! Pas très loin du centre et parking à l’hôtel ! Je recommande !!

Loved this hotel! Positives + Location (just five minutes walking distance from the train station) + Rooms (modern and clean) + balcony (large, facing south, wind protected, privacy protected and they even have a cushioned bench to sit on.) + Staff (very friendly!) + Breakfast (bread, yoghurt, eggs, cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meat, coffee and tea) + View (You can see the lake and the mountains) + Quiet (High quality sliding doors that stop any traffic noise from coming in but there's not much traffic in the evening) + Beds (Large double beds with separate mattresses) + Ticino card is included which means all public transport is free in the area + Reasonable room rates Negative - I wasn't a fan of the foam mattresses. I highly recommend this hotel and just want to thank all of the staff for their excellent service.

Stayed here for 1 night. The location of the hotel is perfect, only a block away from the lake. The hotel parking is right below the hotel. Unfortunately it cannot be reserved. The rooms in the hotel are pretty small, but very clean and a very comfy bed. The service at the hotel was good and friendly from check-in to breakfast the next morning. Overall, it was a great value stay and I will go there again.

My family and I recently stayed at the Hotel Dell’ Angelo in Locarno. I was accompanied by my medical assistance dog. I was disappointed to find out that the hotel charged me a pet fee even though I explained that my dog is a medical assistance dog and was willing to show the clerk my government issued service dog ID from my home province British Columbia in Canada as well as the attached info which was issued by Hotellerie Swiss. The clerk was quite rude and didn’t want to see either and just handed me a business card and told me to email the manager/owner of the hotel. After my return to Canada I sent an email to the hotel and included the attached info and also sent a message via Facebook, but over a month later I still haven’t heard back. CHF12 isn’t a huge deal for one night, but that can add up quickly if staying at a hotel for several nights. Assistance dogs are considered medical equipment and aren’t pets. They are needed to help a person with a disability. Apart from the pet charge and the rude front desk person, we had a good stay. Restaurant staff was friendly and the food was good. Location is great as well. The rooms are tiny and old-fashioned, but I guess for the price you can’t expect more. Soap and facecloths in the room would have been nice.

Transportation: Don’t follow Google Maps when you come out of the train station (it’s not very useful in southern Switzerland, so it’s not allowed). It took me half an hour to drag the big suitcase and walked several sections of gravel roads to the hotel. , Just walk along the shopping street to the street near the hotel and then turn right. This road box is also easy to tow, the road is wide, flat, the slope is not steep, and it doesn’t feel creepy at night, see Figure 1. I tried it and dragged the big box for exactly 12 minutes, which is equivalent to 1 kilometer. When I arrived at the hotel after dark and held the navigation, I couldn't point to the hotel. The reason I couldn't find it was because there was no one at night, so I called the wall phone and waited for someone to come and go through the procedures. The old lady's English is very reluctant, but there is no problem with the check-in communication. She helped me pull the big box up to the second floor and carried it to the luggage rack. When I checked out, no one took care of it. The keys were left for cleaning, so she didn't know to help. Watching me go downstairs holding the big box. The hotel is beautiful. It’s very convenient to go shopping and eat. It happened to be a carnival, and there was loud music on the corner of the street until the next morning, the old lady gave earplugs in advance, not necessarily that it was impossible to sleep. The last picture is for the guest. The old lady in the picture on the wall speaks Italian, German, French, but not English. She said that she can be punched on the card and the other who speaks English but when checking out (no one at the reception desk in the morning) beat her I couldn't answer the phone, and I had to trouble the old lady in front. So you can live if you don't have much need, and it will be difficult if you have a lot of questions to ask.

We stayed here for 4 nights arriving from Zermatt. We felt comfortable from the moment we got picked up at the station. Our room overlooked the lake with a spacious balcony. The hotel service is impeccable and in these unprecedented times we found the hotel clean and prepared. We enjoyed the BBQ on Swiss National Day! It had a nice feel with live music sitting out on the terrace our 6 year old son was looked after and we’d like to thank all the staff for a wonderful time. We have been to Locarno a few times but this was our first at this hotel and certainly won’t be our last.

This simple, budget hotel is very good value for money. It is clean and comfortable, if a bit old. The breakfast buffet was also good value for money. The hotel is central, on the main square in Locarno, and close to the lake. Checking in and out was efficient. The hotel also has a restaurant but we didn't eat there.

I enjoyed my stay at ibis Lugano Paradiso, however the breakfast selection was rather mediocre but in line with the ibis standard. I found that the hotel rates in Lugano dropped quite a bit in the couple days before my arrival but decided to keep my reservation at the ibis Lugano Paradiso due to it’s ideal location. However, given how accessible all of Lugano is, if I were to return I would consider staying elsewhere in the interest of value for money.

The Hotel is situated in the middle of Paradiso Park, south of Logano, with a splendid view of the town and Lake Lugano. The rooms are nice and spacious with modern furniture and lighting management system, etc. The restaurants consist of a brasserie and a Michelin-level restaurant, which are handled by a service-minded and professional staff. The reception works fine and handles all our requests for boat trips, hiking, trains, and use of electric cars (Smart)/bikes that are a part of the hotel amenities without a separate charge. There is a big garage for cars beneath the hotel, which came in very handy upon our arrival from southern Frace as northern Italy suffered its worst hailstorm in centuries. We were very happy about the spa section, which we used several times.

[Suitenhotel Paco Paradiso] (Lugano Station) The hotel is not at Lugano train station, closer to the next stop Paradiso. Out of the train station, you need to push the luggage to go uphill, walk 15-20min, very tiring. The hotel is built on the hillside and on the mountain, so Lobby is on the 2nd floor. And we booked the terrace room, in the PL floor, lawn, recliner, lake view, sunset... After all, it belongs to the Italian-speaking area, so the staff looks more like a passionate Italian. When checking in, there will be a welcoming welcome drink and a coupon to print the name of the occupant. The blonde glasses sister at the front desk will send us to the room and introduce the hotel facilities and opening hours all the way. At the moment of opening the door, I was shocked. The room area is not limited to the 24 square meters marked on the website. It is so big... Once the bedroom is in another room, the living room will be very spacious. The large writing desk is convenient for me to open the computer to process the mail. In the living room, two pull-down children's beds are hidden, which is suitable for a family of four. Slippers, shampoo and hair care kits, hotel amenities. The automatic flushing smart cover is installed in the toilet bowl. Compared to the balcony room upstairs, the room with its own garden terrace feels more like a house, lake view, and unobstructed view. Gym, sauna, bar, nightlife, choice. The first 2 items are free. The hotel is very good. The room is quite large, suitable for family travel, there are not many varieties of breakfast, but the taste is not bad. The hotel's swimming pool is quite suitable for children. The lake at the entrance of the hotel is beautiful, the scenery is very good, and it is very comfortable to go out for a walk. The only downside is that it is far from the famous attractions in Switzerland, and Grindwa and Interlaken are still much more beautiful.
