Koh Rong
We were unfortunate to travel during low season, which in Koh Rong means 99% rain everyday, by conversations with locals they are fully aware of this yet all bookings and activities are business as usual but cannot be enjoyed, such as snorkling, BBQ boat etc. because of the weather we were stuck in the hotel 90% of the time, there is NO TV (it does say in room amenities, I read too late) so just be aware, specially if travelling with little ones. The pool is not an option because of thunder and lighting. It costs 15USD to get to the hotel from the pier. There is no ATM on the island only one stall that lets you use your card to pay the local then they give you the money, this is charged at 8% 😡 This is important because for lack of internet connection you cant always use card to pay at restaurant for your lunches and dinner, also when you can, there is a 3% fee to do so. All activities must also be paid in USD but old rugged bills are not accepted even if they have been given to you by other traders ib the island or if the bills got a bit wet in the rain, which was a frequent problem. So come with plenty of new dollars or you'll find yourself stuck with little options. the night before check out, we asked the staff to please let the ferry company know we would be taking the 9:30am ferry to Sihakouville (as instructed by the ferry company). We booked a 9:00am return trip to the pier as recommended. However as we arrived the ferry was leaving, at 9:15. We were not the only ones left behind. Some people had a flight to catch later that day and were made to pay another 17USD per person as according to them it was ”impossible” to fit them into one of the almost-empty-boats of one of the other many ferry companies, because they dont work together, some families payed up to 70USD to not miss their flight despite it not being their fault. The hotel was standard, for a beach hotel, nice huts, the beds were clean and comfortable and the highlight was definitely the food at the restaurant, over the 4 days, we tried many dishes all of them delicious. I can imagine during sunny season it must be a beautiful location and a beautiful hotel. saying this, I already thought it was overpriced for low season compared to similar hotels in Thailand and Bali, so for me the price you would pay in high season I would not consider it, specially given the whole experience with the ferry and USDs. ☹️

We had an amazing experience at this hotel and enjoyed every moment of our stay. From the very beginning, we were greeted with exceptionally warm and attentive service, which made us feel truly welcome. The entire property is beautifully designed and well-maintained, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, offering everything we needed for a perfect stay. The beach was absolutely stunning, with soft sand and crystal-clear water—ideal for relaxation. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options to choose from. Overall, we felt completely at ease and appreciated the hotel’s outstanding hospitality.

Excellent place to stay if you like peace and quiet and being surrounded by natural beauty! Everyone was so friendly - it was lovely talking to to the woman with the little boy, she made us feel very welcome and her English was excellent! The food was delicious and good portion sizes. There’s a pool table and bar. It overlooks the most incredible beach which was so empty! There are hammocks and a swing on the beach- very relaxing. The room was clean and tidy, and the mosquito net worked well! We rented bikes for $15 and went around the whole island. Thank you for the hotel staff for teaching us how to ride it! Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! *if you’re staying here bring some water, soap, shampoo and toothbrush ect with you as it’s not provided. Also the wifi only works in the main area but smart mobile 4g has good signal* ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The location is absolutely beautiful! Great views, right on the beach and quiet. The pictures however need to be updated. The terrain surrounding the Hotel is a bit rough. They need to upgrade their furniture and redo some of the walkways. There is no path from the main road to reach the Hotel (cars can't use it, so we had to carry our bags through mud and diet to get there). The room was okay, not as clean as I would have liked, dirty flipflops were left in the room for guests to use. The bathroom is very outdated and needs to be renovated. The beach chairs were filthy too Also, the pool looked green to me, I wouldn't have used . After seeing some Hotels nearby, we decided to cancel our stay and the manager and staff kindly agreed. It's so sad because I do think that with some care and upgrades this Hotel would be absolutely stunning.

Right on the beach which was lovely. Be prepared for no hot water in the bathroom... normally maybe this isn’t too much of an issue but we had horrible weather the entire stay so it was pretty miserable having to take a cold shower after getting caught in cold rain. Hotel restaurant is ok but overpriced and there are better options down the road. You have to ask in advance for room cleanings which I think is a bit odd. overall, nice place to relax on the beach if you’re not too high maintenance
AIR HOTEL Sihanoukville - SKY POOL & FREE LAUNDRY - 5min to Boat Pier

The pool is really amazing!!!! There are nine sun loungers, but no parasol. Otherwise, the accommodation is unfortunately not really centrally located. But you can get anywhere for 2-3 dollars. The building itself is an apartment building and is unfortunately still under construction. The room is simple but adequate. The bed is relatively small and the mattress very hard. But the bathroom is of course new and nice. There was no washing machine or refrigerator. As, like almost everywhere, the windows are not really insulated, you can always hear a little traffic. Communication for checking in, as it is an apartment, is done via email or WhatsApp (internet required). Fast, effective and friendly.

I've stayed here for a while. The Studio room was good - clean and spacious. Toiletries and towels provided. The rooms are bright though and feel new; there are also quite spacious balcony. The air-conditioning was also very good. I liked the location as well, near the beach - the hotel is located just near U Mall of Sihanoukville. There's a nicely equipped kitchen, with an induction stove, kettle and fridge, cutlery and coockery. Also, if one's looking for a place to stay longer, it might not be the right place. I was looking for tranquility, that was perfect. Card payments available with a cash machine just around the corner.
