This shop in Nantang Hutong was bathed in the perfect afternoon sunlight. I've always loved their hot dry noodles; you can add the toppings yourself, and the sesame sauce has the perfect consistency. It's a bit smoother than the one nearby, not too dry. Eating it slowly by the window was very comfortable.
The shop was spotless, and from the window, you could see the old locust tree on the street corner. I ordered their signature pickled fish; the broth was a rich, milky white, and the fish was so tender it melted in my mouth. The price was reasonable too; the meal for two only came to a little over a hundred yuan. On such a leisurely afternoon, a bowl of hot soup was truly comforting.
This hot dry noodles are amazing! The sauce is incredibly generous, the chili is really spicier, and it's so refreshing with the pickled cowpeas and pickled radish! 😋 Don't you guys love this combination too? I order this every time I go! The owner also recommended Xiaogan rice wine, which is sweet and perfect for cooling down the spiciness. Have you tried it?
