南唐酱肉火烧(淮军公所A区店)

This baked bun is absolutely amazing! The crust is incredibly crispy, not dry at all! The meat is also incredibly tender, and it's so juicy! The three of us ate there for only 10 yuan per person, such a great deal!

This shop was so hard to find! It's tucked away at the very back of an old alley, the storefront is tiny, I almost missed it. But once inside, I found it incredibly clean, and the owner was super nice. He even offered to take photos for me when he saw I was alone, haha. Were you also drawn in by the atmosphere of this kind of small shop?

Here, the braised pork buns have to be this kind with a crispy outer layer that crumbles with every bite. The pork filling has a perfect balance of lean and fat, and the sauce clings well without being overly salty. The complimentary tea that comes with it is jasmine tea, I think? It's perfect for cutting through the richness. Actually, locals don't usually go to tourist hotspots like this, but this bun place is really good.
