The environment is super good. The fried chicken I ordered is very delicious. There are no bad dishes. It is a good place to eat on weekends.
Autumn in Moganshan is perfect for a leisurely stroll with elders and babies. Our first stop was Yuxiang Farmhouse Restaurant. We left Shanghai in the morning and arrived at the restaurant around noon for lunch. We ordered a set meal, which was very satisfying for four people. Outside the restaurant, a group of prawns leisurely groomed themselves in the river. The warm autumn sun shone on the trees and warmed us. There were many local dogs in the village; they weren't afraid of people at all and darted around on the village roads. After lunch, we strolled around the village for a while before heading to Yucun Village. Parking was in P4 (capped at 30 RMB). Yucun Village is great for artsy young people to take photos. For babies, the most interesting thing was Yucun Square, with its iconic clock tower and flocks of white pigeons. The kids had a great time feeding the pigeons in the square. There wasn't much else to see. Around 3 pm, we drove to the Moganshan Scenic Area. Driving on the mountain roads was quite fun. We informed the guesthouse of our license plate number a day in advance, and the staff at the checkpoint verified the information and let us through directly. The navigation in the scenic area wasn't very accurate, and we drove around in circles before finally finding the guesthouse. Once we arrived, we discovered that there were many guesthouses on the mountain, and they were all pretty much the same. Just find one that was clean, had a wide view, and was good value for money. These were all once vacation villas of wealthy businessmen, nationalized and then privately contracted out for commercial use. 👐 For the best location, choose near Chairman Mao's residence. Children will wake up early, and the mornings and evenings are when there are the fewest tourists in Moganshan. This location is close to the National Geographic China photo spot and offers a distant view of Naked Castle. Avoid the crowds of tourists taking photos (tour groups arrive in droves after 9 am). Start your day beautifully from Chairman Mao's residence. ✅ Private cars are not allowed in the scenic area after 9 am. It's recommended to buy a 15 RMB/person tourist bus ticket at the Huating parking lot/Yinshan Street transfer center. The ticket is valid for one day and allows you to visit 6 attractions. Chairman Mao's Residence: After visiting, you can conveniently visit the Queen's Hotel platform for a distant view of Naked Castle (skip this if you're staying nearby). Xuguangtai: A good place to watch the sunrise, but we decided to skip it this time with the kids. Wuling Village: Mainly for viewing the villa complex, especially Chiang Kai-shek's Songyuelu. The bamboo forest and sea of clouds here are beautiful and perfect for taking photos. Baiyun Mountain Lodge: Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling's honeymoon spot; further down is Luhua Dang Park (too tired, didn't go). Moganshan Conference Site: There's a beautiful cathedral inside (worth seeing). Dakeng Scenic Area: You can watch the sunset at Strange Stone Corner, but the whole walk takes 3 hours, so we skipped it. The famous Jianchi (Sword Pool) is basically just a small pool for washing swords; it's the kind of place you'll regret not going. The main thing is carrying a baby up the steps – it's incredibly tiring, you'll have to experience it for yourself 😂 For lunch, we avoided the peak hours and chose Jinyu Mama on Shanyin Street; the service and food were both excellent. In the afternoon, we left the scenic area and checked into Naked Retreats, a landmark of Moganshan, occupying its own hilltop. The cleanliness and service were much better than in the scenic area, and there was even a dedicated activity room for babies. The hotel has a side entrance; you can freely enter and exit by swiping your room card. There's a hiking trail outside that leads directly to the scenic area. When our child is a bit older, we'll choose to stay here and take him hiking; it's much more convenient than staying inside the scenic area.
