If you want to eat local food in Enshi, the first choice is Zhangguan Hezha, which is the most famous in the local area. The restaurant is full of locals, and foreign tourists may not be used to it, but when you arrive in a place, you have to try the authentic local flavor. There are small wooden tables and stools in the restaurant, and the table is covered with blue printed cloth. The way to order dishes is that the main dish hot pot is charged per person, and the side dishes are included, and the side dishes can be refilled unlimitedly. I ordered oil tea, a kind of tea, which was served first. Fried soybeans, peanuts, and rice flowers were put in the tea soup. It tasted crispy and salty in the mouth, but the oil tea itself has oil, and it feels that drinking oil tea while eating hot pot does not relieve greasiness. The main dish hot pot we ordered was bacon pot with pig ears, stewed on low heat. I don’t eat spicy food, but I think the bacon is very fragrant. The pig ears in the pot are more delicious than the bacon, chewy and tasty. Hezha is also stewed on low heat, but it is counted as a side dish. Hezha is a specialty of Enshi. It is made from the dregs of soybeans left over from grinding soybean milk, mixed with minced meat and red chili soup, sprinkled with chopped green onions, and locals also like to crack an egg in the hezha. Because his dishes are for locals, the taste has not been improved and is mercilessly spicy. After eating a mouthful of hezha, I can swallow ten bowls of rice and have no mood to crack an egg. Most of the dishes are so spicy that I smoke, so I ordered side dishes, well, non-spicy green vegetables. Look at the peppers piled up in the restaurant!

I came to Enshi alone. First, I searched for delicious food in Enshi. The first recommendation was Zhangguan Hezha. When I arrived at Nv'ercheng, I navigated to this restaurant, Nv'ercheng Restaurant. I arrived at around 5 pm. There were not many people. I was the only one who went alone. I didn't know how many dishes to order. I asked the waiter and ordered a dry pot chicken and a bowl of corn rice. After a while, the pot of Zhangguan Hezha and 3 small dishes were served, and then 3 medium dishes were served. I waited for a while for the dry pot chicken. The chicken was small pieces, the quantity was not large, and the taste was good. The Hezha was also fragrant. It was delicious to pour the Hezha on the corn rice and mix it! Because I eat a lot of dishes alone, I can't order a lot of dishes. I'm afraid that I can't finish it and waste it. I will come back to try other dishes when I have the chance!
