This "Chengqiang Renjia Restaurant" in Fenghuang Ancient Town is truly amazing! We ordered several dishes and none of them were disappointing! The cured pork was so fragrant I could eat three bowls of rice with it. It wasn't very spicy. Why isn't Hunan cuisine spicy? The owner explained that tourists don't usually like overly spicy food, okay 😑 The cold rice tofu salad tasted a bit strange, but it was surprisingly delicious—soft, nice, and fragrant. Every dish carried the authentic flavor of western Hunan. After eating, all I can say is: this trip was definitely worth it!

The authentic Xiangxi-style pickled cabbage and small pieces of pork go really well with rice, the stir-fried beef is light and has no burden, and there is also the signature stone pot fish, it would be your loss if you don’t try it!
