This is a simple, natural, quiet and cozy ancient city from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Xiangxi. Walking through the alleys of the bluestone street, the stone slabs make a hollow clang, and the alley is full of a strong atmosphere of life. From time to time, the sound of family members chatting can be heard from the residents' houses, and the curling smoke rises from the brick roofs. At mealtime, you can clearly hear the crisp sound of iron pots and spatulas hitting each other from the kitchen, and the aroma is fragrant. Yes, that's the smell - fried duck? Well, this dish must be paired with Hongjiang's own sauce. . Walking forward, there is a boy squatting at the door of a family, holding a big bowl in front of his chest to eat, and chewing the duck leg with relish in his hand. I think it must taste very good. The wooden house is slightly tilted, and you can smell the fragrance of pine oil from time to time. The mottled white walls and black tiles tell its story of thousands of years. The car in Figure 2 belongs to an old man who often takes his pet dog to go shopping. The stereo in the car plays old revolutionary songs. I guess he must have many stories. The barber chair in Figure 7 is still in normal use. Not only the elderly, but also many young people like to shave their heads and beards here. The people here are kind and simple. After watching the opera in the theater, the aunt who was cutting watermelon on the roadside warmly invited us to eat watermelon. Everyone here seems to have some talents, writing calligraphy, painting, and singing opera. Perhaps this is the charm of this city since ancient times, implicit but not ostentatious, calm but not introverted, surrounded by mountains and rivers, simple and natural. Walking among them, I occasionally see a few familiar faces, but they are old, and I am an adult, walking on the bluestone street with my little boy. The boy who stepped on the puddle and gnawed the duck leg was me more than 30 years ago. My childhood is vivid. I still remember going to the market with my grandfather in the summer to buy a load of watermelons and walking home from Zhongshan Street; I still remember when I caught a cold and had a fever, my father carried me on his back to see a doctor at Xia Nanmen; I still remember selling popsicles with my mother in the summer evenings.
