Jiangxi cuisine is irreplaceable. Although it is spicy, it is very satisfying. You must try it.
Friends, I just had a heavenly weekend in Jingdezhen, and all I can say is—I regret not discovering this hidden gem of a city sooner! 😫 November in Jingdezhen is simply a dream getaway: less crowded, comfortable weather, and a direct 3-hour high-speed train ride from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. Just take a Friday off and you can have a fantastic time! 🚄 My 3-day, 2-night relaxing itinerary Day 1: Immerse yourself in the old town's vibrant atmosphere · 🏨 Drop off luggage at the hotel at noon · 🏮 Taoyangli (a must-visit!) The blue-brick alleys and old kiln ruins make for stunningly beautiful photos. It preserves the most authentic Jingdezhen memories, quiet and peaceful with fewer crowds—it's incredibly comfortable! · 🐟 Yellow Croaker Restaurant (Highly recommended by locals!) The signature yellow croaker is crispy and flavorful, and even the side dishes are so delicious you'll want to lick the plate clean! · 🏛️ China Ceramics Museum (Free!) From Song Dynasty celadon to Ming and Qing Dynasty imperial kilns, witness the evolution of this millennium-old porcelain capital in one place. The museum's treasures are truly breathtaking! · 🍲 Xiaoliangyuan (Authentic Jiangxi Cuisine) Experience the local atmosphere here for dinner. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable! · 🌙 Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative Park (Stunning Nighttime View!) Red brick factory buildings + dreamy lighting create a truly immersive atmosphere at night! The creative market and art exhibitions are endless! Day 2: Exploring an Art Cluster · 🏺 Sculpture Porcelain Factory (10:00-17:00) Located at Letian Pottery Studio, this place hosts a creative market on Saturday mornings. Many pottery studios are hidden here! · 🍜 Zhuolao Canteen (12:00-13:30) Home-style cooking hidden in an old factory building. The stir-fried pork with chili peppers with rice is absolutely delicious! · 🎨 Sanbaopeng Art Village (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM) An art space nestled in a valley, with art galleries and designer studios built along the water's edge; every corner is a picturesque scene. · 🌶️ Yibu Zhiyao (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM) A modern take on Jiangxi cuisine, more suitable for a wider audience; the fish and beef stew in the kiln is a must-try! Day 3: Leisurely Return Trip · ☕ Yuansheng Coffee (9:30-11:00) An industrial-style coffee shop, start your lazy morning with a latte and a freshly baked croissant. · 🛍️ Pottery Street (11:00-12:30) A collection of boutique pottery shops, perfect for a final touch of shopping before leaving. 💡 Off-Season Travel is a Real Deal! ✅ Hotel prices are almost half the price of peak season. ✅ No more crowds at attractions, no need to fight for photo spots. ✅ Easier to book artist studio experiences. ✅ November temperatures are 15-22℃, super comfortable for strolling around. Now planning a second visit! Let's go before more people know about it!
