klyjAutumn in Jiuzhaigou is a fairytale! I stayed at two hotels this time, each with its own unique charm, and I was completely torn. In the end, I decided to try both, and I wasn't disappointed. 💯
First, let's talk about the [Jiuzhaigou Tianyuan Howard Johnson Resort Hotel - Chinese Restaurant]
📍Address: Huodiba, Zhangza Town, Jiuzhaigou County
✨Tucked away in the mountains, the Tibetan-style chandelier in the lobby is stunning! The Chinese restaurant's must-try is the chicken stewed with matsutake mushrooms; the broth is so delicious it's jaw-dropping! It's a 15-minute walk to the Jiuzhaigou scenic area entrance—perfect for lazy people!
Highly recommended: [Jiuzhaigou Fortune Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale]
📍Address: Longkang Village, Zhangza Town, Jiuzhaigou County
💖A hotel that my bestie has been recommending! The rooms are breathtaking! With the triple bonus of a smart control system, floor heating, and air conditioning, you don't have to worry about the dramatic temperature swings on the plateau. The starry sky-top bathroom is a fantastic place to take photos, and the Tibetan buffet restaurant's yak beef hotpot was enough to keep me eating for three days straight! Best of all, the location is amazing; you can watch the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains from your bed 🌄
Proper tips:
1️⃣ Altitude sickness warning! Don't wash your hair or shower on the first day. The hotel has oxygen machines, so be sure to use them.
2️⃣ Book your room two months in advance during peak season; both hotels are within walking distance of the scenic area.
3️⃣ At the Tibetan restaurant, be sure to order the butter tea with barley cakes. The Wyndham chef will even teach you how to make the butter.
Finally, Baofeng recommends the Wyndham's Tibetan herbal baths! After hiking Jiuzhaigou, soaking in a herbal bath completely eliminated leg soreness the next day. The waiters were incredibly handsome and patiently helped me take my photo. 📸
