On a whim, I decided to head to Taizhou City in Linhai. Come with me and explore. As a thousand-year-old ancient city, Linhai boasts a rich cultural heritage and is a culinary paradise in southern Zhejiang. 🏯 Linhai Taizhou City Day Trip Guide 🌃Exploring the Jiangnan Great Wall The Taizhou City Wall was first constructed in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, expanded in the Tang Dynasty, and finalized in the Song Dynasty. It stretches over 6,000 meters (over 5,000 meters remain), earning it the nickname "Jiangnan Badaling." Daytime admission to Taizhou City is 55 yuan, but after 5:30 PM, the wall becomes free. You can ascend the wall from Chaotian Gate to Xingshan Gate, a total distance of about 1.5 kilometers, perfect for a post-dinner stroll. 🍜 Ziyang Street Dining Experience This thousand-year-old street, formed during the Tang and Song dynasties, was Linhai's most prosperous commercial district. We recommend exploring the east-west side streets and alleys, such as Dangui Alley. Every few steps along the street, you'll find blue brick walls (such as Qinghefang and Yingxianfang). These served as both ancient firewalls and landmarks. Other attractions include the Zhu Ziqing Memorial Hall, the former site of the Taizhou Branch of the People's Bank of China, and Cai Yongli's Scale Shop. Ziyang Street also boasts a wealth of delicious eats, such as Wang Tianshun's seaweed pancakes and Hu Ji's egg white lamb tails. For dinner, I recommend Yaoxin Restaurant on Ziyang Street. The owner is very friendly and will recommend local delicacies and recipes. The food is generous, filling, and affordable. 🙈 Friendly Reminder · For breakfast, I recommend Huang Ji's special pot with ginger rice noodles. · Many of the food on Ziyang Street requires queuing, especially for seaweed pancakes and egg white lamb tails. It's best to queue separately to save time. #TheNightViewHere is Beautiful #NicheDiscoverySociety #CityHumanitiesNotes
Departing Wuhan, we went on a solo bicycle tour. On the first day, we stopped by Jiujiang's Lushan Mountain. After a free visit to Donglin Temple, the Donglin Giant Buddha, and a Poyang Lake Blue River boat ride, we headed to Jingdezhen for a layover. The next day, we finally arrived in Taizhou at noon. 🚗 We explored East Lake in Linhai City, Taizhou, and the reminiscent Jiangnan Great Wall. Then, we stopped by Huipu Street, just off Ziyang Street, for some seafood. It was such a joy! It was time to relax and unwind, eat, drink, play, and shop!
