D了个YI found this place after reading the reviews. It can be said that I came here because of its reputation. The store is located on a snack street. There are cars parked on both sides. It is very popular. They mainly cook crabs. The name is. They all have low tables and small stools. Scan the code to order. Crabs should be a must-order for every table. I ordered a plate of smashed cucumber. One word: spicy. Two words: very spicy. I really couldn't eat a second bite. Later, I asked the store to change it. I removed the chili and added vinegar. It was still spicy. I decisively gave up. I ordered a plate of clams. There was a lot of mud and sand, and the taste was also average. Let's talk about their main attraction. The crabs are not big. The cooking method is conventional. The ingredients are fresh. The taste is average. There is no surprise, but it is not bad. The overall feeling is that it is a very down-to-earth store with a great atmosphere of fireworks, the environment, and the dishes are average.

Mangshi is home to numerous restaurants specializing in live crabs, a local delicacy you absolutely must try. They're often called "Ruili live crabs," but they're actually a type of blue crab from the Indian Ocean. Caught off the coast of Myanmar, they're packed every morning and shipped to Ruili's seafood market via the border crossing with Myanmar. From there, they're distributed to restaurants in nearby cities like Mangshi, ensuring each crab is fresh and alive. They usually offer a variety of flavors. If you can't handle strong flavors, order the steamed version. Each crab is rich and juicy, and photogenic. Locals love the spicy version, accompanied by a side of noodles. The scallion, ginger, and curry versions also attract a lot of attention. The ambiance is only average. There are a few decent tables on the side, but the small stools in the middle might be a little uncomfortable for those with weak knees.
Yesterday at noon, I ate Ruili live crabs (Mangshi branch), the one on Baixiang Road (pictures 1-6). Even the mildly spicy version made my nose run and my face turn bright red. I quickly ordered a bottle of chilled tamarind juice from them; it was a bit sweet, but it seemed to have no effect on the spiciness. I also ordered a cup of avocado juice at the door. I finished the meal in a spicy and satisfying way. Personally, I think instant noodles would have been delicious with it 😋. Four crabs for two people, a bowl of instant noodles, a bottle of tamarind juice, and a bottle of beer cost 200 yuan! This noon, I had live crab again at Golden Crab in Ruili (pictures 8-13). The owner took my order in a soft voice. I chose this place based on online recommendations (because they said live crab restaurants in Ruili are always crowded). I think the biggest advantage of this place is that you can eat as soon as you arrive without queuing, and there are parking spaces right outside. The lemon fish was delicious (35 yuan), fresh, tender, and tangy. The dried beef fried rice (22 yuan) and the Paoluda (12 yuan) were also good 😌. Today's spicy crab wasn't as spicy (maybe because I told the owner I can't eat too much spice). It seemed a little less spicy than the one in Mangshi yesterday, but overall it was still delicious. The total was 192 yuan. #CrabLovers #SpicyCrab #EatingCrabs PS: This type of crab should be a type of swimming crab. The females eat the roe (milk), and the males eat the meat. It's a type of blue crab. #RoadTripYunnan
