The Red Mansion invites the Phoenix to spread its wings. Good luck shines brightly, and the exquisite hydrangeas are obtained by those who are destined to have them, and a bright future. A family with taste, accumulation, blessing, inheritance, and creative Huaiyang cuisine. What you eat is the environment, what you taste is the spirit, and what comes is the distinguished guests.
🏡🏡🏡I noticed this restaurant before it opened. When I peeked in from the window, I could see a faint red light flashing in the black atmosphere, which was dazzling and mysterious. I came here to try it out, wondering if I could get the same dishes as in Dream of Red Mansions. I originally wanted to use group buying, and I made reservations in advance☎️ and confirmed that group buying was available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, group buying was removed during the restaurant week. This operation was very complicated. . . Five people ordered a restaurant week set meal for four people, plus a single soup dumpling and dessert. Tea: Dongding Oolong, no fragrance or taste. Cucumber with coir, exclaimed that the knife skills were great, I have never seen cucumbers cut so delicately, and when I lifted it up, it turned out to be a cucumber, so I lost interest😂 Stir-fried shrimp with lily, the amount was a bit small, but the shrimp tasted good, Homemade rice cake and yellow croaker^The rice cake had a soft texture, and the yellow croaker had a fishy smell. Fried cake, a nonsensical appetizer, dry. Crab roe and shark fin soup dumplings, slightly thick, with plenty of soup but not fresh and thick, shark fin is superfluous. Dried bamboo shoots and fresh abalone and lion's head, abalone is always delicious, the meat of the lion's head is loose and tastes nothing special. Yangzhou fried rice, I was afraid we wouldn't be full so I ordered a big bowl, the seasoning was slightly light. Because I know the level of Yu Baxian, I didn't expect any dishes from this restaurant under the same group, but the environment was better than expected. The dining hall is comparable to the chapel next door, and the stairs and private rooms on the second floor are photography spots that photography enthusiasts can't miss~ Such a restaurant is worth visiting once to see the gorgeous decoration. If the same set as Dream of Red Mansions is released in the future, I would be interested in coming again.
Let me be clear: the food here is just a category. Our first proper meal together after resuming dine-in dining was at the legendary Red Mansion Banquet, renovated from Soong Ching Ling's former residence. We ordered a double portion of crayfish, pork liver, shrimp balls, duck soup, seasonal vegetables, and two dim sum dishes (not pictured). The taste, well, lacked the freshness and aroma of authentic Huaiyang cuisine, and the presentation betrayed no exquisite knife skills. Each dish left only a salty aftertaste... The last two pictures are the highlights: the uniquely shaped chopstick stands and the special "takeout menu." Summary: Not recommended. Disregarding the less important elements, this restaurant believes its essence lies solely in the saltiness and the black and white menu... #Must-TryClassicHuaiyangCooking #CapturingCityHumanity #ScenicRestaurant #SummerIsHere
Hidden away in the city, the Red Mansion Banquet is located next to the Raffles City Changning. Housed in the former St. Mary's Girls' School in Shanghai, founded in 1881, it's a truly century-old building. Eileen Chang once studied there. The "Red Mansion Banquet" is a legendary institution in Huaiyang cuisine. The Shanghai version aims to recreate the grandeur and splendor of the Jia Mansion banquets from Dream of the Red Chamber. The restaurant's main color is a vibrant yet profound red. The open-plan lobby on the second floor even features a Pingtan performance, making it a truly relaxing experience to enjoy Yangzhou morning tea while listening to it. 🥒"Covered Cucumber" is a dish that demands skill. The cucumbers must be sliced thinly and evenly, without breaking into pieces. The cucumbers are crisp and delicious, making them a perfect appetizer. 🥧"Crab Roe and Shark Fin Soup Dumplings" come in a basket of oversized crab roe soup dumplings. A straw pokes through them, and the juices burst forth. The crab roe is incredibly flavorful, while the shark fin is barely noticeable. 🐟 "Homemade Yellow Croaker with Rice Cake" Was the yellow croaker frozen? It wasn't fresh enough, the meat was a bit tough, and the rice cake inside was too soft and not sticky. 🧆 "Thousand Layer Cake" I was really looking forward to the thousand-layer cake, but it clearly didn't look like homemade and looked like frozen stock, which was disappointing. 🐖 "Crystal Braised Pork" I quite like the braised pork, and it's pretty good here. 🦆 "Yan Du Xian" and "Roasted Phoenix Goose with Green Bamboo Shoots" share the same soup base and similar ingredients, making it feel like the same dish. 🍤 "Stir-fried Shrimp with Lily Bulbs" A very refreshing dish, perfect for the hot summer days. #FoodXunweiguan #Must-TryClassicHuaiyangCooking
