Azabuya has been open in Kerry City in Pudong for a long time, but I've never been interested in trying it. I saw they've opened in Taikoo Hui, right next to Shirokuma Curry, and it's doing pretty well. My husband and I went to the parking lot to get some ice cream. The location is great, Taikoo Hui LG2, very close to the subway. The atmosphere is average and quite noisy. The ice cream counter is right at the entrance. It's foggy, so I can't really see what's there... The service is okay, and the tastings are generous, but the portions aren't large, unlike the portions bloggers get for paid photos. It's definitely a buyer's show and a seller's show! My husband thought both flavors were good. After a bit of hesitation, we finally ordered the hojicha and black sesame flavors. The hojicha is slightly bitter and has a unique flavor. The matcha is actually quite good, but there are so many places to try matcha, so I recommend trying something different. The black sesame is comparable to the one I had in Okinawa. You can taste the grainy texture of the black sesame seeds, and it's slightly sweet. A small portion is 25, a large 34, and you can choose to combine two flavors. It's a good value.

Azabuya (HKRI Taikoo Hui) ~ They have ice cream and light meals. I usually buy two scoops for 35 dollars. The Matcha No. 3 and No. 5 are popular, but I find them a bit too powdery. There's also a sweet and unsweet tea flavor, which is quite different from the matcha ice cream you get in Japan. The Japanese yuzu is refreshing, and the shochu chocolate is also pretty good. I also bought raspberry yogurt and grapefruit lychee sea salt.
