Surrounded by historical houses, the restaurant is small and also an old house. There are many people at noon and you have to wait for a seat
The food is served quickly. The free chicken soup is actually very delicious, and the kaya toast is delicious. The barley water is really shocking, such a big cup. Hainanese chicken rice is average, but the three-yellow chicken is better

【A la carte dishes】 The signature dish Hainanese chicken rice is a must. You can freely choose the part of the chicken, 1/4 upper body or lower body, or 1/2 or steamed chicken. I ordered 1/4 upper body (38 yuan) + a bowl of oily chicken rice (8 yuan) + a cup of iced milk tea (20 yuan). The oily chicken is indeed authentic, with crispy skin and tender meat, which can be matched with the three seasonings on the table. The bowl of oily chicken rice is also a golden cp with the chicken. The rice grains are full and shiny, but I feel that it is a little hard in the mouth. I put it down after eating half a bowl, and finally ate the whole plate of chicken 😁
At the intersection of Jianguo West Road and Sinan Road, Exit 1 of Dapuqiao Station on Metro Line 9. I arrived at the restaurant at around 12 o'clock, and I had to queue up. Everyone was very orderly and moved a small chair to sit at the door to queue up. Fortunately, the weather was good today, with no rain or sun, and it was very comfortable. I almost looked at the cute and thoughtful menu and it was my turn.
Small and fresh shop, I like the decoration. The menu is written on the blackboard. Business is good, basically the small shop is full. All the orders are signature, Hainan chicken: It feels like an ordinary three-yellow chicken, nothing special. Oil chicken rice: This is recommended, very Southeast Asian flavor, with ginger in the rice. Bak kut teh: I don’t know what the authentic taste is, this one is different from what I ate before, a little bit of pepper, which I don’t like. Chicken feet: The free chicken feet are good, quite crispy. Kaya toast: I found that the price of this toast has increased. It used to be 15 and now it’s 18. I personally feel that it’s a little sweeter. In addition, the onion and garlic sauce on each table is very good! It tastes good with chicken!
While visiting Tianzifang for an ear clean, I stumbled upon this unassuming little shop. I also checked out their Bak Kut Teh and Hainanese Chicken Rice, often considered the best in Shanghai. Xingzhou Bistro is located unassumingly on Jianguo Middle Road, very close to Tianzifang. It's small but charming, with a traditional roadside shop feel. Entering the shop, you're greeted by a strong Nanyang ambiance. An entire wall is covered in chalkboards, hand-painted, including the menu. There are also posters of Beyond and a young Bruce Lee on the wall, giving it an indescribable sense of time. There's a small candle under the Bak Kut Teh to keep it warm. Enjoying a sip of warm soup in the winter is truly comforting! The broth includes a whole clove of garlic, which makes the pork ribs very flavorful. The Bak Kut Teh has a strong flavor, which some people find unpalatable, but I really enjoy it. For Hainanese chicken rice, you can choose between half a chicken or a quarter chicken, and you can choose between the top half (breast and wing) or the bottom half (thigh). The portion is impressive, and the chicken is tender. I highly recommend the chicken rice; it's incredibly fragrant!
Xingzhou Bistro, which has several branches in Shanghai, serves food quickly and the food is quite good. The half chicken is tender, and the chicken rice is a must-try. The kaya toast is hot on the outside and cold on the inside, with a pandan flavor. The seafood laksa is generous, but the broth lacks the coconut flavor and could use some improvement. I also had a glass of salty lemon juice.
