撒泼打滚队长The biggest selling point of Changping Rice Noodle Rolls is its fame. It has become the first choice for Shantou snacks! Many friends who come to Shantou for tourism come here because of its reputation. However, the taste of rice noodles is getting worse and worse. The plate of rice noodles is getting smaller. It looks "large", but the portion is actually very small and the ingredients are not fresh. If you want to eat rice noodles, you can consider the surrounding shops.

The environment is clean and tidy, the area is not large, and it mainly serves breakfast and supper. I recommend the pork rice rolls, the meat is tender, the rice rolls have thin skin, and the vegetables are delicious. It is quite good.

My thoughts after a 4-day, 3-night meal in Shantou! All honest comments. After 4 days and 3 nights of eating out in Shantou, I've compiled a purely personal review. I'll be honest about whether or not the food was good, so feel free to choose based on your preferences. 1. Seafood: Shuangsheng Never-Ending Porridge (Recommended) It was truly delicious. As long as you're willing to spend the money and order the good stuff, the flavor is guaranteed to be top-notch. Thanks to my generous friends, my first meal already had my expectations high, and I was very satisfied. 2. Beef Hotpot: Xinghua Wu Ji (Recommended) I ate at two restaurants, the other being Tianshan Beef Hotpot. The taste was pretty much the same. The meat at Tianshan was thicker, while the meat at Xinghua Wu Ji looked more tender and presented better. I chose Xinghua Wu Ji mainly because I loved their shacha sauce; it was incredibly delicious when dipped into the meat. 3. Rice Noodle Rolls: Zhujiang Rice Noodle Rolls (Recommended) I tried Xiaowu, Chayuan, Changping, and Zhujiang, and honestly, the taste was pretty much the same. I chose Zhujiang because the beef was larger, which was a satisfying experience. 4. Braised Hot Pot: Not a big fan (not recommended) We went to Weiluyehua, and the food got saltier the more we ate. The price per person was quite high. The seafood was quite fresh, but the liver powder wasn't very textured and wasn't to my liking. 5. Roast Goose: All about the same (take your pick). I've tried Fujinxuan, Sunan Qinji, and Chunmeili, and the taste isn't that different. Just pick the one closest to you; there's no need to go far. 6. Licorice Fruit: Guoshuang Licorice Fruit (Highly recommended) We started with Aqun and then Guoshuang. We ate there twice in a row. Guoshuang isn't recommended online, so we only found it after seeing other tourists eating there and asking. The owner of Aqun was quite friendly, but the mangoes were so hard we didn't finish them and ended up wasting them. The licorice fruit shops on the main street of Longyan South Street, Aqun, looked fresher, but the others were just average. Walk a few steps further and you'll find Guoshuang. Their wax apples are sweet, which is rare! 7. Desserts: Ji De Lai, Three Generations (Average) I tried Ji De Lai, Three Generations, Longan Tofu Pudding Sweet Soup, and Ran Ji. The tofu pudding in Shantou was the old-fashioned kind, and the texture wasn't quite right for me, so I never really got used to it. 8. BBQ: Very Average (Not Recommended) I went to Xingxian BBQ; the beef skewers were okay, but the lamb skewers were terrible. The only thing they grilled well was the baby corn; the rest wasn't particularly impressive. 9. Drink: A cup of Chaocha's Huangpi Sparkling Water (Recommended) I had a few disappointments: I didn't like the Coconut Juice at Chengchuan Tea Shop, and the milk tea was mediocre; the wax apple juice at Yaqiang was barely drinkable; and I couldn't handle the tangerine juice my friend ordered. The only thing I did have was a cup of Chaocha's Huangpi Sparkling Water, which was quite refreshing. A final aside: I didn't try Cheng Jianye Restaurant. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a strong musty odor. I couldn't stand it after a few minutes, so I left. I really don't understand how it got the Black Pearl rating. I'd been to Shantou several years ago, and my impression was definitely different. I thought the fried chicken wings and the shaved rice snacks were just average, but the homemade beef and rice noodle combo was pretty good. Which one do you most want to try first when you go to Shantou? If you want to know where Guoshuang is, or if there are any other local favorites, feel free to ask me. #ShantouFood #ShantouTravel #ChaoshanCooking #BeefHotpot #LicoriceFruit
