A famous local seafood restaurant, Boston lobster meat is firm and tender, and the blanching method maximizes the freshness.
Sisters! I just got back from Sanya in early November, and here's my "Avoid the Pitfalls + Get the Best Deals" post, which I've been bombarded with questions about! As a "wild island experience officer" who's been to Hainan four times in five years, I'm just giving you the honest truth today 👇 1️⃣ Sanya, Transportation: Choosing the right transit point saves you half the price; high-speed rail is better than flying. ✈️ Direct Flight: Shanghai → Sanya (5 hours, economy class 800+ RMB), but airfares fluctuate greatly in November (off-season), so I recommend trying to snag early bird tickets! 🚄 High-Speed Rail: Shanghai → Haikou (12 hours, second class 793 RMB), then transfer to the island-looping high-speed rail from Haikou East Station to Sanya (1.5 hours, 55 RMB). From there, take a taxi to Houhai Village (20 RMB/15 minutes). This saves you 300+ RMB compared to a direct flight! 2️⃣ Sanya, Accommodation: Houhai Village is more photogenic than Yalong Bay, offering excellent value for money. 🏠 "Wanderer Tribe Homestay" (320 RMB/night): Right next to a surf spot! Tatami rooms with sea-view bay windows. The owner is a ten-year surfer, offering free surfboard loans and basic lesson lessons. Listening to the waves from the balcony at night feels more authentic than staying in a high-end hotel! 3️⃣ Sanya, Food: Avoid restaurants in tourist areas; local grandma's stalls are the real gems! 🍤 "Aju Qingbuliang" (First Market Branch): Freshly cut coconut + 12 kinds of toppings (15 RMB/bowl). The coconut milk is sweet but not cloying, 10 times more authentic than trendy shops! 🦀 "Lin Jie Xiangwei Seafood" (Train Head Seafood Plaza): Choose the clearly priced "Hele Crab + Lobster" (150 RMB per person). The owner will help you prepare the ginger and vinegar sauce—so fresh you'll want to lick your fingers! 4️⃣ Sanya Activities: Go surfing at 8 AM to avoid the crowds and take amazing photos! 🌊 Houhai Village Surfing: Arrive before 9 AM; the waves are small, perfect for beginners! Board rental is 80 RMB/2 hours. After many falls, I finally caught a wave, and the photo-taking success rate is 200%! 🌅 Coconut Dream Corridor Sunset: Go at 5:30 PM. Rent a small electric scooter (30 RMB/day) and ride along the coastline to watch the sunset paint the clouds pink and purple. Every shot is cinematic! 💡 Suggested Itinerary: Day 1: Haikou High-Speed Railway Station → Sanya B&B → Aju Qingbuliang (a type of dessert); Day 2: Houhai Surfing → Coconut Dream Corridor Sunset; Day 3: Seafood at the First Market → Return Trip (buy a box of Sanya dried mangoes along the way). In November, Sanya is half the size of the summer holidays. The sea is still the same, but with a more relaxed atmosphere. Trust me, avoid the peak season to truly experience the "slow island life"! Let me know in the comments if you have any questions ❤️

A red dress is a must for the beach!! First time in Wanning, the weather at Shimei Bay was amazing, perfect for taking photos 🕶! After the photos, my friend and I went to Lin Jie's Fragrant Seafood Restaurant nearby 🦞, the salt and pepper mantis shrimp was absolutely delicious, and the staff were so kind and helpful in peeling the shrimp!! Afterwards, we went surfing at Riyue Bay 🏄♀, it was super crowded, so make sure to do your research before choosing a surf shop to avoid disappointment!! Afterwards, we had fruit shaved ice and refreshing dessert soup, both were so good!! I'll definitely come back to Wanning next time 🤤🤤
