This trip to Huaiyang Restaurant was definitely worthwhile! The soft-shelled eel was incredibly tender and flavorful, coated in the aroma of garlic and pepper—so fresh I almost licked the plate clean. The braised lion's head meatballs were also amazing; they were substantial yet melted in my mouth, the broth clear and pure, bursting with the natural flavor of the meat. Even the simplest dish, the blanched dried bean curd strips, was fragrant with beans, finely sliced, and drizzled with sesame oil—absolutely divine! Every dish was mild yet brought out the freshness of the ingredients, making for a satisfying and enjoyable meal. I'll definitely be back!

Today's family gathering was held at Zhanhongge Chinese Restaurant in the Yuehua Hotel, Xiamen. We were extremely satisfied with the meal; it was the most enjoyable meal we've had in recent times. The ambiance and atmosphere were excellent. I was particularly impressed by the crab roe lion's head meatballs. The waiter explained that they were handmade, a famous Huaiyang dish made with three-layered pork from local pigs. The broth was a specially prepared chicken soup base, and the meatballs melted in my mouth, rich yet not greasy. Another highlight was the Huaiyang knife-cut noodles, also handmade with incredibly springy noodles and a very flavorful broth. The oyster omelet, a Xiamen specialty, was also very authentic. The service was impeccable, making me feel right at home. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming. I will definitely come back again. I highly recommend this restaurant!

You get what you pay for, and this is certainly true here. I took my kids to Xiamen during the summer vacation and stayed at Yuehua. The hotel is very big and has a back garden, which is very suitable for taking kids to stay. You can play in it for half a day. There are many animals in the back garden: peacocks, black swans, ostriches, lambs, rabbits, etc., which can be fed up close.
