喜欢到处逛的人A road trip through southeastern Guizhou turned into a dreamlike adventure! From Zhenning to Leishan, the scenery was breathtaking, and we finally found a sense of belonging amidst the myriad lights of the Miao villages. ✨ Highlights: - Healing mountain view rooms in the Cloud-Top Stone Village - The charming stilted houses of the Miao villages - Stunning Miao-style photos on the Wind and Rain Bridge - Must-try charcoal-grilled pork skewers and a rice paddy cafe 【Zhenning Station】 📍Huangguoshu Stone Village It's actually more of a village. To put it simply, if you're far away, there's no need to make a special trip. We planned two days to visit Huangguoshu, and since it was on our way, we stopped by. Stone Village is a small place, its most distinctive feature being its location along a river. The river is shallow, knee-deep in some places and waist-deep in others, and it was mostly frequented by families with children playing in the water. If you bring children, this is a great place to visit. Batik making is much cheaper than elsewhere, and kids get to experience traditional batik firsthand—first outlining with a pencil, then filling in with hot wax, and finally having an auntie tie-dye, soak, and fix the color… When the wax melts in the hot water, revealing the blue and white patterns, it's incredibly satisfying! 【Leishan Highlights】 1️⃣ Xijiang Miao Village (Entrance fee 110 RMB) There are two daily performances of the entrance wine ceremony. It's not very engaging for very young children; if you want to drink, wait for the performance before going in. You need to take a vehicle to get in. Otherwise, it's a bit of a walk. It's recommended to go in the evening to avoid the crowds and see the stunning night view! Remember to wear comfortable sneakers. Climbing to the viewing platform is tiring, but when the lights of the thousand households spread out below, it's totally worth it! [Facepalm][Facepalm] Also, the cable car is really not worth it. If you don't really need it, don't choose the cable car combo ticket… For accommodation, avoid places too high up, as it can be inconvenient to go up and down for children or elderly people, unless you have specific requirements for the view… 2️⃣ No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge This ancient bridge (address: No. 6, Ancient Street), open all day for free, is a prime location for ethnic-style photoshoots. In the morning mist, Miao grandmothers in traditional clothing walk across the bridge, making time seem to slow down. 🍢Food Radar: - You must try the charcoal-grilled pork skewers near the Wind and Rain Bridge. At 10-12 yuan a skewer, the fat and lean meat are perfectly balanced; the moment the oil bursts in your mouth is absolutely amazing. - Try the Osmanthus Latte with Miao-style glutinous rice cakes at the Rice Paddy Cafe (towards the rice terraces from the ancient street). Sitting on the tatami mats watching the clouds drift by is incredibly therapeutic. - Long table banquets are okay if you want, but I don't recommend other options. They're unnecessary and not very tasty. (The higher-priced options might be better, but we opted for the normal-priced ones, and it was a bit crowded. There were quite a few tour groups, and the food wasn't great.) 💡Personally tested tips: ① Miao villages have many stone-paved roads and steps, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Also, consider the low-rise guesthouses. ② Remember to bring non-slip shoes on rainy days; the misty Miao villages have an even more ethereal feel. ③ Using Gaode Maps for driving is more accurate, as navigation can be delayed on some mountain roads (seriously, Gaode Maps is sensitive to road closures up to 10 minutes in advance). #GuizhouRoadTrip #SleeplessNightInQianhuMiaoVillage #EthnicStyleOutfits #MountainCafe #TasteOfSoutheastGuizhou
