After the Spring Festival, we went to the Zhenyuan Ancient Town to play. We played until very late. There were still customers in the restaurant after 10 o'clock. There were two of us eating. We came here to eat and ordered Guizhou De sour soup fish. The soup base is rich, sour and spicy, but it is a bit spicy for me, a Cantonese. However, the fish is very good, very tender and smooth. It is very appetizing and refreshing.

Friends who like sour food must not miss it. This is the signature sour soup in Guizhou. You will feel regretful if you don't try it. The store is large, clean and hygienic. Vegetables are self-service, so you don't have to worry about waste.

The night we arrived in Zhenyuan, we went to Gucheng Red Sour Soup Fish Restaurant. Maybe because it is not located by the river, it is quite remote, so there are not many customers in the restaurant. The taste of the sour soup fish is much more sour than that of Lao Kaili, not as appetizing as that of Lao Kaili. The boss is very nice and enthusiastic, the restaurant is clean, and the taste of the sour soup fish is different. The beautiful woman at the table next to us is very pleasing to the eye.

Gucheng Hongsuantang is located on Zhouda Street, Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, next to the bridge! Gucheng Hongsuantang Hotpot is really famous, it is a hundred times better than the chain Hongsuantang in Guiyang. The ingredients are fresh, and the sour soup fish is from the Zhenyuan River. The most distinctive food in Guizhou is sour soup fish, and the most recommended is Gucheng Hongsuantang.

It was the off-season for tourism in Zhenyuan Ancient Town when we arrived. While other restaurants were completely empty, his restaurant was packed. Seeing the ambiance was okay, we went in and ordered their signature dish, Jiangtuan (rice ball in sour soup). The owner enthusiastically suggested ordering half a fish and sharing it with other tables to avoid waste. Their vegetables are self-service, which is not only cheap but also very fresh and delicious. The sour soup fish was also amazing, much better than any other sour soup fish I've had elsewhere. Highly recommended.

The location isn't very obvious; it's on the second floor, so you need to look carefully. The restaurant is quite large. I heard it's a long-established brand, and the food is pretty good. There are several types of fish to choose from, with different prices for each. The smallest fish is about two pounds, so it seems more cost-effective for groups. Vegetables are self-service, 8 yuan per person, and there's a good variety.

This restaurant is located inside Qiaotou Alley, so it's easy to find. The storefront is quite impressive. Our group of four ordered three jin of river catfish, plus spare ribs, tea tree mushrooms, etc. The table fee was eight yuan per person, but it included unlimited vegetables, sterilized tableware, and rice, which was quite a good deal. The fish was very fresh and tasted pretty good.
