The outside is beautiful, simple but neat, with a medieval design (read the menu story of this place), not too many tables. The inside is beautiful, the ceiling is really beautiful. The food was good and plentiful, she had roasted meat with red cabbage, I had Berliner sausages, two different beers...which were very good beers...and apple pancakes with cream and ice cream...very good. A great dinner to celebrate this special day in Berlin!

Great atmosphere. We were planning to go there on Friday for my husband's birthday but it was fully booked. We wanted to go there especially because they have a good wine list with many German wines (they make their own). We were able to get in on a Thursday night though. It was a great experience with good service and friendly staff. The food was excellent, especially the white asparagus soup, sautéed liver and schnitzel. The portions are huge so if your appetite doesn't fit that, maybe miss the starters. Highly recommended
Zur Gerichtslaube, an old restaurant near the town hall, has dim lights, which makes you feel like you have returned to the glorious Austro-Hungarian Empire. The steaks are delicious.
The perfect combination of medieval castle style and delicious meat pies and pork knuckles has formed Germany's outstanding food culture, which made me feel like I was back in the medieval German Empire!
