Guangchuan is a restaurant specializing in eel dishes! It has one Michelin star! Although it is famous, you will know it after you try it! We ordered two different grilled eels, juice grilled and salt grilled. The eels here are indeed very fishy.

We waited in line for nearly an hour before we could eat. We ordered a set meal, but I recommend that you just order the eel rice. It was delicious and worth the wait. I recommend it five stars! It tastes great, very delicious!

With the halo of one Michelin star, Guangchuan is always crowded with customers. Because Guangchuan requires a complete reservation system, I have done my homework. You need to pay 3,000 yen in advance to make a reservation. At that time, 3000 yen can be used to offset the consumption, and it is a very good eel rice.

There is a famous eel shop in Arashiyama called Hirokawa. There are always a lot of people queuing up every day. The business hours are 11:30-14:30, 17:00-20:00. I saw a lot of people queuing up when I arrived at around 4pm. It is a good opportunity to taste the eels here after watching the red maple leaves in Arashiyama. The eels here are all made from live eels, so they are very fresh. It takes a long time to wait for them to be freshly baked. The eels are delicious and are served with soft and glutinous white rice. It is delicious. No wonder so many people line up to taste them.

Although the storefront isn't large, you'll know you've come to the right place when you can see the crowd queuing in front of the store from outside the parking lot! If you want to eat at Guangchuan, be sure to queue up early. When we were returning in the afternoon, some people started queuing at the door as early as 4 pm. This restaurant does not accept reservations or takeout.

It had one Michelin star in 2017, and it's said it lost its star in 2018, but it still enjoys immense popularity. We ordered a Set Meal B plus a small bowl of eel rice. The differences between Set Meal A and Set Meal B are: 1) Set Meal B includes a full portion of the side dish, while Set Meal A includes a half portion; 2) Set Meal B includes an extra skewer of grilled eel liver.
