Unagi Kawahara Sanjouya Nara

A shop selling seafood rice, a must-visit for seafood lovers, I like the sea urchin sashimi rice bowl. The sashimi is very filling, and it makes you drool. The eel rice bowl is also very delicious, and is a good choice for those who don't like to eat raw food.

When I first arrived in Nara, I wandered around Sanjo-cho near the hotel and finally decided to eat at this restaurant. Tea was served immediately after we sat down, and ice water was served for the children. A menu with Chinese instructions was also given. I usually don't know how to order dishes, so I ordered a children's set meal, a whole red grilled eel set meal, and a sukiyaki set meal. What I call the children's set meal is chopped red grilled eel + seaweed rice with soup. The rice in this set meal is actually quite large, and a girl with a small appetite should be able to eat it. The whole grilled eel set meal comes with white rice and soup, a small portion of pickles and two small slices of pineapple, and the white rice can be refilled. The sukiyaki set meal also comes with pickles and fruits. The sukiyaki set was the first set served. The stone pot was very hot, and the raw egg used for dipping was smashed and poured into the soup to scald it half-cooked (it felt too raw to eat raw for the first meal in Japan). The white rice was delicious, and I felt that I couldn't eat enough, but the child didn't like eel rice very much. In the end, I ate all her rice, and only after eating did I realize that I was a little too full.

The eel was really good and I enjoyed it very much!
