The red maple leaves and green leaves are colorful. There are two welcoming ladies standing at the door. The door curtains and large lanterns are all written with "Kikusui Building". We said we didn't have a reservation, but the lady still took us in to line up. There are several buildings inside. We entered the second one. The environment is really pleasant. Eating in such an environment makes the appetite better. We went upstairs and just sat down to wait for a seat. Unexpectedly, we were seated soon. There are small rooms inside, each with 3-4 tables. The seats are spacious and comfortable, and the tourists eat quietly. The atmosphere is quiet and beautiful. We ordered different eel set meals, which are really delicious! I have eaten eel rice in many restaurants in Japan, and this one is definitely on the list. I like Nara even more.

I'll probably get beaten for putting food out in the middle of the night, but I'll still do it this way. Wagyu beef is expensive but it's really delicious. You get what you pay for. The most expensive one is much more delicious than the third most expensive one. The beef tongue doesn't taste much different from ordinary beef tongue. The famous Kikusui-ro in Nara has an environment that really matches its reputation as a century-old brand that has been visited by successive emperors. I personally prefer white-grilled eel. The eel roll is surprisingly not as greasy as it looks. (My Chinese stomach, which was clamoring for light food last night, is now missing Japanese food again [sad face]

Taste: This eel rice is reserved three days in advance, and the restaurant is fully booked, and the appointment is around 2:30 in the afternoon. The eel order is very good, that is, Kabayaki or Kabayaki and white yaki, the portion is half, one, and one and a half. To be honest, I was looking forward to it before I came to eat, but I was very disappointed after eating. Fish eel rice The eel is thin and small, and the taste is average. As long as I have eaten much better than this in China, I eat it in Shunde and it is killed and eaten immediately, which is delicious. This eel is too thin and small, one is equivalent to 300 yuan, just a little bit, the only good thing is that the rice is delicious. The set meal of about 80 yuan in Shunde is much better than this. No wonder it is said that a lot of Japanese eels are exported from Shunde. The double combination of "white grilled eel" is usually white grilled original flavor, which tastes a bit fishy, ​​and it is still not as delicious as in China. No wonder it has to be served with mustard. The side dishes are also very average, and the grilled liver is also fishy. "Homemade bracken cake" is a pastry made of our jelly, dipped in soybean powder. Environment: This restaurant is definitely more famous than it actually is. The environment is indeed good, with a Japanese-style garden, but there is really no need to make a reservation specifically to dine here.

Kikusui-ro is located at 1130 Takabatakecho 630-8301, Nara City, Nara Prefecture. We ordered the extra-large unagi donburi, which had distinct grains of Japanese pearl rice, thick but still soft eel, and a light sauce that just barely covered the freshness of the eel. Although both of the famous eel restaurants in Nagoya are delicious, our family unanimously agreed that Nara Kikusui-ro is the most delicious!
