When traveling to Thailand, how can you not try the most authentic Thai mango sticky rice? This Hua Xinzhe Auntie Mango Sticky Rice shop is so authentic, the mango is super sweet and the sticky rice is also sticky.
Street food is always a representative of a place's cuisine, and the mango sticky rice here is delicious and inexpensive—highly recommended.
Royal Seaside Resort: Experience It in a Short Holiday 【Part Two - Attractions & Food】 🚂IV. Attractions 1️⃣ Hua Hin Railway Station Ranked #1 on Qyer (a Chinese travel website), Hua Hin Railway Station was our first stop. It's about a 10-minute walk from the Hilton. While called a train station, it's more like a small platform in China, with small doors and limited waiting seats. The old-fashioned decorations tell the story of a train station's history and present. 2️⃣ Nostalgic Street Area This is a charming, retro-style area selling creative gifts. The area isn't large, and the items sold aren't particularly appealing; perhaps I just wasn't interested. In short, Hua Hin's attractions are very ordinary, even disappointing. They feel only good for killing time; it's better to just relax at the hotel. If you're short on time, you can skip this. 🥘V. Food 1️⃣ Auntie Chee's Mango Sticky Rice Right across from the Hilton Hotel, this is Hua Hin's famous mango sticky rice, well-known throughout Thailand and loved by both locals and foreigners. It's said that "long queues form every day starting around noon, and they always close before 3 PM because—they're sold out!" A serving costs 120 baht (about 24 RMB) and includes two mangoes. Auntie Zhe removes the pits from the mangoes. The mango sticky rice we bought at the airport later wasn't pitted, and the mangoes weren't as sweet as Auntie Zhe's. We ate it by the pool at the hotel; the sweet mangoes and fragrant coconut milk were so satisfying with the sticky rice! 2️⃣ChaoLay Seafood: A seafood restaurant located a few minutes' walk from the Hilton Hotel. Built on a boardwalk extending from the beach, it offers excellent sea views. However, compared to the cliffside restaurants in Phuket, both the interior design and the food are inferior. But in Hua Hin, it's probably the restaurant with the best view, because its boardwalk is incredibly long, far surpassing other nearby beachfront restaurants. We ordered 600g of lobster, but it wasn't enough to fill us up... The taste was just average, and the price wasn't cheap either; it cost about 700 RMB for two people, comparable to the price of cliffside restaurants in Phuket, but it couldn't compare in any aspect. I recommend this place if you're looking for a great view, but not if you prioritize taste. 3️⃣KO Seafood: Located in Hua Hin Night Market, about a 15-minute walk from the Hilton. The ambiance is like a small street-side restaurant, but the ingredients are fresh, and the cooking is excellent—much better than Chaolay! This time, the lobster weighed a full 1kg, and the cheese-baked lobster was perfectly prepared! The scallops and squid were also very fresh. 4️⃣La Terrasse: Located next to ChaoLay, a four- or five-minute walk from the Hilton. Also a restaurant with an extended boardwalk, the ambiance is better than Chaolay, but the boardwalk isn't as long, so the view isn't as good. It mainly serves French cuisine, but also Asian dishes, Thai food, and seafood. We ordered steak, which was just average. It's ranked 7th on TripAdvisor, could it be that we ordered the wrong dishes? The meal for two cost about 500 RMB. Since it wasn't seafood, I can't compare prices, but overall it felt cheaper than Chaolay.
