M30***41When I think of a fine dining experience, my mind goes to Commander's Palace. No one does it better. It's a "must" when visiting New Orleans and I would rank it as one of America's finest restaurants. It's a favorite spot for visiting dignitaries, sports figures and famous personalities. The restaurant next to the Lafayette Cemetery is surprisingly popular. The building was built in 1893, and the houses in the nearby Garden District are almost all over a hundred years old. The restaurant was originally a small salon, and then it continued to evolve, and the final renovation was in 2006. I have always believed that French cuisine is the result of better publicity. Chinese cuisine, and even Italian and Spanish cuisine can leave French cuisine far behind.
