⭐Geographical location: Yudanaka Hot Spring is relatively close to Jigokudani Monuen, a 20-minute walk from the station. It should be noted that you can pick up the station before 5 pm. We arrived at 5:30, but the boss said we could not pick up. Although the distance is not long, it still takes a while to walk on the mountain road. You can also take a bus, which runs every half an hour. ⭐Service: There are two shopkeepers serving you, and their attitude is very good. They will help you deliver your luggage to the coffee shop next to the station when you travel the next day. It should be noted that if you check in after 3 pm, you will not be able to make calls in the morning. I left something in the room. No one answered the phone after three calls. In the end, I had to go to the store to get it again. ⭐Facilities: The room layout is relatively simple and the facilities are relatively simple. To be honest, the heating is relatively small and it is a bit cold at night. There is no shower room and toilet, and the sink only has cold water. Shower rooms and hot springs need to be charged separately, 500 yen. Public toilets (all small Japanese-style hotels are like this) are very clean, because there are few rooms and few guests, and you have never touched anyone else in the toilet. Anyway, the price/performance ratio is pretty good. ⭐Meals: Our order included dinner and breakfast, but the portions were small and not enough to fill us up. When we got out of the station, we had to remember to buy some food from Lawson. There are no convenience stores in the hot spring street! Mineral water is not provided, and there is an additional charge of +100yen. ⭐Hot spring: You can soak in 9 soups on the street, but there is only one key, so you have to go there separately. The private soup shop in the store is in B1. It is relatively simple, has a lot of moisture, and is not very clean. It is recommended to go to the public soup house. Although the boss said that there is no place to take a bath in the public bath, so you can only buy a private bath + shower, which is a bit embarrassing.
Gingetsu

This time, I wanted to enjoy the hot springs at my own pace, so I made a reservation at Gingetsu (one night stay, no midnight snack, breakfast included). It was a 5-minute walk from Suwa Taisha Shimosha and Akimiya (15 minutes from Shimosha and Harumiya), so it was the perfect location for those who love shrines and temples. It's located in a quiet town, so it's a quiet and calm location. It's a hot spring inn with a total of about 15 rooms, so it wasn't crowded and I was able to enjoy the hot springs at my own pace in the indoor bath and the open-air bath (private time available). The hot spring had a very soft texture, and the temperature was just right, so it didn't sting my skin. When I was wondering what to do for dinner, when I checked in, the staff showed me a map of Shimo-Suwa and recommended some nearby restaurants. I got the impression that they were proactive in providing information about the neighborhood, perhaps to encourage people to visit nearby shops. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the front desk. The room's refrigerator was stocked with delicious charcoal water, and the thermos was stocked with hot water, so it was nice to be able to hydrate my tired body and have hot tea right away when I had time to calm down. I was expecting breakfast to be something simple like rice, miso soup, natto, and hot spring water*, but there was a wide variety of dishes, including salad, several small side dishes, and grilled fish, and I was able to enjoy local ingredients, so it was a very satisfying breakfast. I think this is a historic hot spring inn, so there are stains on the carpet in the hallway and wear on the sliding door handles in the rooms that have come with age, but the shoji screens are not torn and the hotel is very clean despite its age, and I was very happy with the price range. I would like to use it again when I visit Shimo-Suwa.

Because we wanted to watch the fireworks festival and experience the hot springs, we booked a room here. We were greeted by a grandfather. It was a little late and raining when we arrived at Yudanaka. The grandfather came to pick us up. It was very comfortable to soak in the hot springs. Yudanaka should not be the peak tourist season. Maybe we arrived too late and left too early. The road was very deserted and there were not many people.
