Río Serrano Hotel + Spa

I believe that the hotel is excellent, that's why I booked. But I didn't stay because I fall down in tores del paine and broke my wrist. I can't call hotel in my pain and no signal as well. So I hope the management would make a refund on my booking..at least 50% I would appreciate because I have to book another hotel near Punta Arenas hospital. If management needs documents to support this report I will email privately Thank you

I stayed here a total of 3 nights - 2 nights before my Antarctic cruise, and 1 night on the way back. I really liked this hotel and it exceeded my expectations. Both rooms I was assigned were fantastic. Spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable. Lovely large bed. On the way back they gave me a massive apartment-sized room - crazy! The service is top notch once you get to the hotel. Reception and restaurant staff are fabulous. The hotel is right across the street from Unimarc - a large supermarket and very close to restaurants, souvenir stores, and the main town area and shops. I want to thank the hotel for being flexible and preparing me a hot meal that was ready in my room when I arrived after midnight. I had a late flight coming in and room service closed at 11.30pm. I arranged for them to cook me a meal and have it ready in my room at 11.30pm. This was a lifesaver! I very much enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. There were a couple of things that could have been improved: 1. It is very hard to get into contact with the hotel before arrival. They only respond to emails half the time. That being said, their concierge staff always responded to my emails and were a big help. Big thanks to Fernando from Concierge and Felipe from Reception who helped me greatly when I didn't get any response from the General Reception team. 2. The hotel is extremely busy and the lifts took a long time to arrive on some occasions. One of the lifts also broke down on one day and the wait was even longer. 3. Gym opening times - they have a great gym but it closes early. I think on Sunday they close at 9pm. It's terrible. For a hotel like this, they should have the gym freely open till midnight. Overall I think they did a wonderful job and provided great service on arrival. It was a great stay, thank you.
Almasur Punta Arenas

Punta Arenas is a touristy town. This hotel is centrally located with walking distance to most local areas and eateries. That makes it a popular choice for stay. However the hotel itself gives you small rooms, noisy due to its location and poorly designed. There’s no proper bathroom in many rooms. Shower with transparent glass door makes it interesting! No thermostat. Most rooms without tv, and no amenities like lotion. There’s no furniture to empty your suitcase. The housekeeping staff does not like to give you even two pods of coffee and was downright rude when asked, until I paid another one two bucks for the same! The room itself is about 175 sq feet. Unless you’re ok with such an accommodation, find a better and more suitable place to stay.

We just completed a 4 night stay at this hotel. I made the reservation for our Junior Suite room back in July 2024 and booked directly on the hotel's website, expecting to at least get what I paid for. I don't even know where to start. Cons: All the negative reviews by other travelers are accurate. There is loud drilling and banging noise all day, from the construction they are doing. Room mix up - At check in, we were told since it was only 1 pm we would have to return in an hour as the room was not ready. Fair enough. When we returned, the reception gals said we could pick between two rooms on the 4th floor and gave us keys to check out the rooms. After checking out both rooms, we told them our decision. At that time they asked for our names again, and said that they had made a mistake! Our room was actually on the 2nd floor, and at the end of the narrow hall. The view from our room was obstructed and the noise from the construction was right next to our room. I requested a change in room but was told that they were all sold out. No kettle in the room for coffee (first hotel in all our travels in Chile to not provide that) Paint splatter on the floor in our room No water bottles. We asked and were given one refillable glass bottle. No safe deposit box in the room No tissues Only one hand towel provided in the bathroom. I asked for another one and hot the one in the picture - dirty brown spots. No bath mat. Mirror in the bathroom on the side of the wall making in totally useless, but a window in front of the sink overlooking the beds! Lots of truck, vehicular noise at night from road in front. No glasses/tumblers in the bathroom No body lotion Room cleaning- one day our room wasn't cleaned when we got back from our tour at 5pm. Front desk told us their maid had a picture from 6:30 am with a Do Not Disturb sign on our door. Sure we had it - from 6:30 -7 am. We took it off at 7 when we got back from breakfast. So they only checked once at 6:30 am and that's it. On our request, however, they did someone to clean our room that evening. Restaurant server charged for water bottle which we had with brought down with us from our room. They were charging by looking at us rather than on what they served us. Then ask us if want to add a tip! Which we did - ridiculous! The front desk staff never, ever greeted us when we walked into the hotel or walked past them in the morning. I had to use Google translate with them almost all the time. Their English was very limited. The only staff that gave us any attention was the gentleman server in the restaurant. He was great! Laundry order- got our room number wrong even though we had written it on our order form. They said they sent the laundry to another room and it got rejected, so they were waiting for us to call! Pro Great location and views. Easy walk to restaurants and main shopping. The hotel seems to be capitalizing on their view. Nothing more to offer. No hospitality or personal attention.

Hotel Las Torres Patagonia

Hotel Las Torres and their entire property is privately owned, yet inside Torres del Paine National Park. I chose the all-inclusive program, so started out with a shuttle transfer from Punta Arenas. About 45min south of Puerto Natales, we stop for lunch at Cerro Negro Ranch where we toured the family's historical home as well as the barn where sheep sheering and baling are performed. Great way to break up the 4.5-5hr drive to Las Torres. Just after checking in, we hit the Excursion desk to select activities for next two days. The first was guided hike up Cerro Paine to view the towers, and the second was a full day tour of the park all the way to Grey Glacier if opting for the boat ride. The all-inclusive dinner wasn't available in the dining hall, so we ate in the Pioneer Cafe at no charge. Not an issue for me, as I don't like to dine past 7pm, nor heavily at that meal anyway. Food was excellent there as well as the dining hall for breakfast. The view from Pioneer puts the massive mountain just south of the towers in full frontal aspect. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. No seating in-room, but didn't miss it. There are seating areas where coffee/tea is available self-serve all day in the room buildings. If you're not a hardcore trekker (opting for tents, cabins or hostel) and appreciate creature comforts, stay in this marvelous hotel while taking in the sights of this spectacular place!

The Singular Patagonia Hotel

I would have given 3.5 stars but that's unavailable. Starting with the good: The hotel property is beautiful and unusual. Very historic and the architects made great use of the existing buildings. The excursions were great - albeit very weather dependent and , because they would not let us book anything until we got there, we missed the very one activity we wanted to do because of weather on the days after we got there. (Had they let us book in advance, we could have arranged to arrive on time on our first day). Instead, they charge you for a full day at the all-inclusive price and then leave you to find something to do in town. The guides were delightful, interesting and friendly - consistent with all our other guides elsewhere in Chile. And we loved the excursions we did (particularly the Baguales hike). The negatives: They knew we were arriving at 9:30 am yet failed to take that into consideration in terms of arranging the cleaning of our room and making it available. We saw no one else check in that early or for the next few hours - yet they stuck to a 3 pm check-in (they let us in at 2:50 pm). (We know they knew because our travel agent told them in a three way email and I also emailed about an effort to book an excursion for that morning). Thus, we were on our own with no morning activity that we paid for. The food is mediocre and the same menu all week. The service in the restaurant is also mediocre. One evening my husband and I arrived in the restaurant and ordered cocktails before dinner. After 20 minutes of not being served, I went to the bar and noticed that there were no bartenders. We asked the server and she simply had no idea. The same thing happened with a coffee order the first morning we arrived (sans room). As mentioned in another review of mine, one of the hotels we stayed at packed us a boxed lunch when we left for a midday flight. Not only does the Singular not do that but after we checked out - our flight was delayed 4 1/2 hours. so we took a taxi back to the Singular and asked to store our luggage while we had lunch. The front desk and the restaurant host each told us we could eat there on our dime - even though we just checked out after paying a high all-inclusive rate for three days. That might be reasonable - but it is not 5-star service, particularly given the price.
Remota Patagonia Lodge

Built in 2007, this is an architectural marvel. The interior design is fabulous and funky. Still, it has downsides: 1) Wi-Fi is only available in the common areas, and the pool doesn't have Wi-Fi either. They say they want guests to disconnect and get ”in tune with nature.” That's fine for a yoga retreat or a cheap hotel. They shouldn't impose digital detox values on international clients who must communicate with their loved ones (or business associates). I wonder if they're trying to save money. 2) Many guests must traverse a long corridor open to the cold air to access the main building. And everyone has to go outside to access the pool. If they add Wi-Fi to all the rooms, you'll get a 5-star experience.
