My partner and I thorougly enjoyed our stay at Biwako Hotel. All rooms face the beautiful Lake Biwako and the view was perfect. We even caught a snowfall on one of our mornings here. The staff was great and always friendly even when there was a slight language barrier. We tried their breakfast as well which was really good. Highly recommend renting their electric bikes and cycling around the lake during sunset. And also going for the Lake Biwako Cruise! The hotel onsen is wonderful as well, we will definitely be back

Clean and well-maintained room. Nice breakfast. Few minutes drive to a big shopping mall. Onsen is not a big one, but its still nice to have.

Hotel is pleasant but the meals are of average standard for 500 a night catering breakfast and dinner with a private outdoor shower, onsen tub. Service staff are responsive but the surrounding area where hotel is located seems to be housing” girlie bars ” and night girls clubs activities. Shuttle bus to and from station provided by the hotel.

Staff are very friendly and Services are excellent. The hotel shuttle picked us up from train station after we used the toll free mobile phone at the station. The next day they arranged shuttle to send us to the cable car station. The only draw back is the dinner quality. Only moderate.

Booked Standard twin and double rooms for my family, but there was a glitch somewhere, hotel received my booking as Classic twin rooms instead. Double checked my booking on Trip.com and asked reception for a clarification. The staff members were extremely helpful, checked, and gave us upgraded rooms instead because the room type we booked for were fully booked. We really appreciate them for doing this especially because we checked in late. Other than this, everything else was decent.

The hotel is well-known in the Xiongqin Hot Spring area. There was only the last one left when booking. It was not disappointing. The environment is typical Japanese style, comfortable and beautiful. The hot springs are very, very comfortable. It is really great for people who walk 20,000 steps a day. ❤️ There is a shuttle bus to the hotel. You can contact it by phone at Xiongqin Hot Spring Station. It only took about 10 minutes to wait. Thank you👍🏻 The dinner for one stay and two meals is super delicious. I occasionally stay at love hotels. I think it's natural for two people to take a bath together. The bathtub was a single-person tub (my first experience). It was disappointing that it was too big for two people. The hair dryer was so worn out that the plating around the switch had peeled off. That's fine, but it wouldn't turn on and I couldn't use it. My wife's hair ended up being half-dried when we left the hotel. I didn't want to have to call the front desk to have it replaced. There was a step of about 10cm when going to the bath, toilet, and washroom. I wish it was barrier-free. The price when I applied for and made the reservation on this site, the amount charged by the credit card company, and the price list in the room (for weekdays up to Thursday) were all different, which I found strange. The difference in price was small, so I didn't mind. Overall, I understood that the room was worth the price and left satisfied. (Room only) Thank you.

Traditional Japanese-style residence, tatami room, homestay, Chinese person in charge. You can stroll around the lake. Sound insulation is not good. Consciously keep quiet and normal work and rest. Don't disturb others.

It was a great stay at this ryokan! The hotel is able to arrange a car to fetch you from the JR station. You can call them using a dedicated phone at the station which is used to contact the different ryokans. The car arrived in 10mins or so. The ride to the ryokan was also less than 10mins. The hotel also fetched us to the station on the last day of our stay. The ryokan itself is homely and cozy. We were greeted by an english speaking staff who introduced us to the amenities of the ryokan. There was also a nice welcome tea and matcha chocolate. Our bags were brought to our room as well during this time. The room is spacious and cozy. The hotel prepared 2 welcome biscuits in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room has a nice living room and a great view of Lake Biwa. Recommend to catch the sunrise over the lake! There are 2 normal beds as well as futon beds (need to set up yourself). Both are comfortable. The hotel also prepared pretty yukata for both female and male guests which you can wear during the stay. There are 4 different designs for ladies, and one design for the guys. You can request for different size if the one in the room doesn’t fit you. There is also a full length mirror and a mini dressing area at the side of the living room. It was fun dressing up in the yukata! The toilet, basin, shower and hot tub areas are all separate. The toilet is a little small, but the basin and mirror area is very spacious. The shower area is quite small as well and the shower head is rather low so you need to hold the shower head if you wish to wash up while standing. There is a small stool given for you to sit down though. The hot tub area is semi-outdoor and you can see Lake Biwa. But it is quite small (only good for one person). It was too cold so we didn’t use the hot tub. Instead, we booked the private onsen for 50mins. The private onsen has a private toilet and dressing area which is equipped with hairdryer, body lotion etc. There is a water dispenser as well if you need to hydrate yourself. The onsen area has a washing area, and the hot tub area is spacious for 2 person. There are privacy screens around the onsen area but there is a small gap to let in cold air for ventilation. Wish there is a good view from the private onsen but it was still enjoyable! Dinner and breakfast was Kaiseki style, and the meals were one of the highlights for my husband and I. We really enjoyed the courses which are clean tasting yet wholesome, fresh and flavourful. It was such a sumptuous treat! The ryokan also has a souvenir shop if you wish to buy anything back. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we agreed this was one of the main highlights of our 12 days trip in Japan. Highly recommend!

Clerks are all very nice, and they have shuttle buses to the JR station. However, foreign tourists with tattoos should note that they cannot use public bathroom, but they will still be charged the service fee of it.

The Japanese-style room with street view, the hot spring on the first floor, it is very comfortable, the second floor eats, breakfast and dinner are very rich, the level of cuisine matching is no less than the level of high-end Japanese restaurants in Kyoto! At dinner, there will be a waiter to help open the bed. I haven't slept in the same room with my parents for many years. I still slept on one bed when I was young, with three beds side by side, so warm. The hotel owner can speak some English, free pick-up and drop-off to JR Okoto Onsen Station and Hieizan Station, and free pick-up and drop-off to Hieisan Cable Car Station Close to Lake Biwa Harbor, opposite to Lake Biwa Hot Spring Park, you can enjoy the hot spring foot pool for free

There is a shuttle bus from Otsu to the hotel. You have to make an early phone reservation. The Japanese service has nothing to say. I have been on a business trip to Japan. This family trip, the breakfast and dinner are set. The variety is better. The victory is less. Haha.

The hotel is convenient for visiting Mt. Ibuki and the restaurant, shopping mall and 7-11 are just minutes away. The breakfast is nice and delicious. However, quite a few families with kids will stay here over the weekend. It is better that the hotel management separate those noisy customers from regular customers who require quite environment.

The hotel is located by the lake. When you enjoy breakfast, you can enjoy the lake view while eating breakfast. There are not many types of breakfast, but the quality of the food is good, the size of the room is small, the hotel is located close to different attractions, 10 minutes convenient! Staff is kind!

Pure Japanese-style hot spring hotel. There are not many Chinese here. Almost all Japanese come here to travel. The hotel has a little brother from Taiwan who speaks Chinese very well. The ultimate Japanese service is experienced here. The 4G used this time Internet card, unable to contact the hotel, we had to find Ctrip's customer service to help contact the hotel. At first I was very embarrassed. I didn't expect Ctrip to do such a good job in a foreign hotel. In a foreign country, at the JR station entrance, I saw the hotel staff to pick up the car, and I was in a great mood!

We chose this hotel to have a complete Japanese experience. That worked. We had a traditional Japanese room with tatami. In the afternoon tea was served in the room, and during dinner the room was furnished with 'futons' to sleep on. Furthermore, the room was equipped with all Western amenities. A private 'ofuro' outside on the balcony was wonderful to recover from the efforts of the day. Delicious extensive Japanese breakfast and 'kaiseki' dinner. Very helpful and personal service with advice on where to visit. The town of Nagahama has a nice town center and the boat trip across Lake Biwa to the island of Chikubushima is recommended. We were taken to the port by the hotel. This hotel was a fantastic experience for us
