Wonderful location. Very clean. Good service. Friendly and helpful staff. We experienced a mild earthquake in early morning. There was announcement after the alarm to the hotel room after the shake. However, it was only in Japanese. It would be better if the announcement could be in English as well. Anyway, the reception took our call and explained the situation quickly.

- nicely designed and well maintained hotel, very quiet - away from the Main Street, not very convenient, shuttle bus is very limited, only two in the morning to the train station, you have to book in advance - no gym or pool or a la carte restaurant options - great ocean view from the room, lobby and Onsen - service was subpar, the onsen floor was slippery, I fell and injured my hand and feet, had two medicated plasters from the reception and that was it - lots of people were taking photos in the mixed bath onsen???

Candeo is right on Wakayama-Shi Train station, which makes it incredibly convenient. Sound-proofing ensures perfect sleep and no disturbance from trains or traffic etc. The staff accepted early check-in at 2pm and were incredibly courteous, professional, English-speaking and kind. Really excellent. Some large Japanese hotel chains are not entirely geared to the ”international market” and the attitude to non-Japanese guests can be less than ideal. NOT CANDEO. The staff are comfortable with an international clientele, cheerful and welcoming. How wonderful! The entire hotel is extremely clean and well-run. Everything says ”professional”. The flower arrangements on each floor are REAL. Flowers are extremely expensive in Japan. The view from the reception area (Floor 11) is fantastic. The spa (Floor 12) is open air, with a great view and a magical feel. I enjoyed my stay very much and I hope to return to Candeo soon.

Loved this hotel so much! There are 5 different onsens (including two amazing cave onsens) and a garden and a deck at level 30+ and restaurants, souvenir shops and a Lawsons in the hotel itself. The downside is that it is only reachable by a short boat ride on a very adorable turtle boat from 7 to 7 at certain intervals so you’ll need to time your itineraries very precisely. However, I did enjoy coming back earlier from a long day of hiking at Kumano Kodo and relaxing in the different onsens, which were a big highlight of my trip. Also make sure to dine at Ihura Sushi at Kii-Katsuura, which has amazing sushi.

The hotel is about 5-6 minutes walk from the JR station. The hotel is not new, but it is clean and tidy. The room is large and can open 2 21-inch suitcases. The bedding is comfortable. The special thing is that there is a hot spring, which is very refreshing. The breakfast is rich in variety and delicious. It is recommended to stay

The hotel is walking distance to Wakayama castle. The rooms are clean because it’s a renovated hotel this year. The morning breakfast buffet is amazing. A varieties of food are there. And also many kinds of drinks are there.

We are self driving from JR Wakayama to Shirahama about 2 hours, nice place and good location because can see the sunshine with nice beach view. The onsen is super nice view face to the beach/sea and peaceful. Hotel breakfast is very delicious with traditional Japan and Western style , there is alot of choice too. The staff is helpful to carry on our bag and luggage. The hotel reception have a convenient shop for us to buy the souvenir. I will be back again, thank you!

Amazing hotel with a great ocean view! Location was a little far from the station but you can easily grab a taxi at the station easily

My stay is okay. My feeling is that the hotel is overcharged considering what it offered. For this price, i would expect more facilities to be provided in the hotel. I stayed two night and the dinner buffet and breakfast buffet are completely the same for two days. My suggestion is that joining dinner buffet for one day is enough as the next day will be bored.

Get off at Shin-Yuzaki Station and turn right uphill to get there. It's also convenient to eat nearby and is close to several major attractions in Shirahama. The lady at the front desk who speaks Chinese is very welcoming. When checking in, she carefully explained the steps for preparing hot springs in the evening. The room was also given on the 7th floor, the highest floor. It's a pity that there was a typhoon these few days. It would have been a blessing to come back and soak in a private hot spring after visiting the attractions. Although the hotel has a sense of age, it has been renovated and is very cost-effective. The lady proudly said that her hot spring ♨️ is certified!

Hotel is located very close to Wakayamashi station. Staff is friendly . Room small and a bit outdated but clean . Breakfast limited in choices but reasonable . Considering the price it’s very good.

As soon as I entered the corridor and buried the room, I already felt good. There is a small entrance before entering the room, and I feel that the design is very meticulous.
