Things to do in Anchorage

It's pretty good. You can see wild black bears and brown bears, which are protected after being injured in the wild and fenced for everyone to visit, as well as some other animals. It's not far from Anchorage, and you will pass by here after getting off the boat at Whittier Pier.

Chugach State Park in Alaska is one of the largest and most spectacular state parks in the United States. Stretching over half a million acres, it offers dramatic mountain ranges, glaciers, waterfalls, and dense forests. Just outside Anchorage, it’s easily accessible yet feels wonderfully remote. Visitors can enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, skiing, and camping while surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The park is home to moose, bears, and eagles, adding to its wild charm. With trails for all skill levels and panoramic views of Cook Inlet and the Chugach Mountains, it’s a must-visit destination for outdoor adventurers and nature lovers alike.

This is more of a review of the campground than a review of the trail, as we actually spent more time on the campground loop than the trail. There is parking on Portage Glacier Road in front of the campground entrance, which leads to the trail and the salmon overlook. The campground is large, with a lot of nice sites, and trails run through it; you can hike the Willawaw Trail and the Trail of Blue Ice from here. Nice views of the mountains and glacier behind. Water and toilets. It was late in the season and nearly empty, but I can imagine it is very busy in the summer.

Great place for our family to enjoy spending time together outdoors all year long!

It's very beautiful and spectacular. Although the cost is a bit out of budget, the surprise it brings us is worth the price. It's a completely different experience and gives people a very good impression.
