Pont des Amours is a small bridge spanning the Thiou River. It is a must-pass route for those heading northeast toward the lake, with a small pier located to the west. This seemingly ordinary bridge is where the philosopher Rousseau and Madame de Warens once met. In his Confessions, Rousseau described the wonderful youth he spent in Annecy, and it was here that he met and fell in love with the beautiful Madame de Warens. Today, it is a favorite spot for locals in Annecy to take a stroll, and the bridge has become a place that many couples often visit.Annecy · 186m from downtown

Cascade d'Angon

Cascade d'Angon

Cascade d'Angon is located near the village of Talloires-Montmin in the Haute-Savoie department of France, nestled among the mountains on the eastern shore of Lake Annecy, and is one of the natural views in the Alps. The waterfall is formed by the Angon stream cascading down steep rock walls with a drop of about 60m. The water flows through a narrow gorge, creating tiered falls, surrounded by dense forests and rich vegetation, offering a quiet and beautiful view. To reach the waterfall, you need to walk along a specially built hiking trail for about 30 to 45 minutes. Geneva Jet d'eau

Geneva Jet d'eau

5.7
4.7/5
297 reviews
The Geneva Jet d'eau stands on Lake Geneva, right next to the Jardin Anglais, and is one of Geneva's iconic landmarks. In the 1880s, Geneva's workshops relied on hydraulic power to drive their machinery. When they stopped working at night, the pressure in the pipe network needed to be released, and this water jet was originally designed as a pressure relief valve for this purpose. Because it was so popular with passersby, it was later moved to its current lakeside location and became a formal landmark. Its water jet can reach over 100m, resembling the spout of a giant whale. Hundreds of liters of lake water are propelled into the air at high speed, scattering into a sky full of white mist. Walking along the lakeside promenade, you can feel the cool mist on your face as it drifts with the wind. At night, if you catch it when it is illuminated, it is even more impressive.Geneva · 34.3 km from Annecy

Old Town of Geneva

4.5/5
80 reviews
Old Town of Geneva is nestled on the hillside on the south bank of the Rhône River. Its cobblestone streets form the framework, with churches, historic houses, and ancient fountains scattered throughout. The pace is much slower than elsewhere in the city, making it a perfect spot for a stroll to soak in the old-world atmosphere of Geneva. At its highest point stands the Cathedrale Saint-Pierre Geneve, founded in the 12th century and an important witness to the Reformation in Geneva. Climb the narrow stairs inside the tower to the belfry for panoramic views of the layered rooftops and the distant lake and mountains. The former residence and place of birth of the philosopher Rousseau is located along the main thoroughfare. Place du Bourg-de-Four, once a medieval market, is now surrounded by open-air cafes and small restaurants; it is a delightful spot to enjoy a coffee or sample local flavors after a walk. The winding alleys are home to galleries, antique shops, and bistros, where you might discover anything from old European paintings to vintage items from around the world—browsing for souvenirs while exploring is a delight. For history enthusiasts, the Maison Tavel is a must-visit; this ancient residence documents centuries of local life. Secret medieval passages still remain underground, adding a touch of intrigue to your stroll.Geneva · 33.5 km from Annecy

L'Horloge Fleurie

L'Horloge Fleurie

4.2/5
206 reviews
L'Horloge Fleurie stands on the promenade along Lake Geneva, located on the west side of the English Garden, combining Geneva's two specialties—watchmaking and horticulture—into a single flowerbed. It was built in 1955 to pay tribute to the local watchmaking tradition: the movement is hidden beneath the flowerbed, and the clock face, which is about 5 meters in diameter, along with the 12 Arabic numerals, are all "planted" with flowers and greenery. A second hand over 2 meters long sweeps slowly over the flowers. The time is calibrated by satellite. It is not just a decorative display, but a fully functional clock. The flowers on the clock face are changed four times a year according to the season: in summer, they are replaced with begonias or succulents; in autumn and winter, pansies are planted; and around March, it's the primroses' turn to take the stage. Therefore, the patterns and color schemes you see will be different depending on when you visit.Geneva · 33.9 km from Annecy

Jardin Anglais

Jardin Anglais is located on the left bank of Lake Geneva. Established in 1854, it is a lakeside park designed in the English landscape garden style, where lawns, large trees, and winding paths replace regular, symmetrical layouts. It can be accessed by walking along the lake after crossing the Mont Blanc Bridge. The park is lush and shaded, with expansive views of the lake. Standing by the shore, you can see the water jet of the Geneva Jet d'eau, making it a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the view while walking around the lake. The park's signature view is L'Horloge Fleurie, built in 1955. The clock face is composed of thousands of seasonal flowers, and the patterns change with the seasons, so the color combinations you see will differ depending on when you visit. In addition to L'Horloge Fleurie, the park also features the bronze Four Seasons Fountain, the National Monument commemorating Geneva's accession to the Swiss Confederation, and memorial busts of painters and sculptors. The statues and tree shadows are interspersed throughout, making it perfect for a slow, leisurely stroll.Geneva · 33.9 km from Annecy

Annecy's old town sits right by the lake, with canals winding through it like a spider web. Colorful old houses line the cobblestone streets, their windowsills adorned with flowers. The Palais de l'Île, nestled in the middle of the canal, is a photogenic triangular structure. People sunbathe on the lakeside grass, the water so clear you can see the fish. Walking along the canal, you'll inevitably encounter ice cream shops; a stroll around will leave you with two empty cups in your hands.

This bridge is not special, but it is mainly because standing on the bridge and looking at the river on both sides, you feel like you are in a fairy tale world, or a world like that depicted in novels or movies, very beautiful, romantic, warm, with a quaint style, and a campus style that is particularly beautiful. Perhaps only that kind of mood can feel it, but the bridge itself is not very special, and there is a lot of rust on it, which makes it look very old, but the scenery on both sides is still very beautiful, and perhaps that is why it was given such a beautiful name.

Landmark Significance: As the city center of Milan, the square is an irregularly shaped polygon covering approximately 12,000 square meters. It was the coronation site of the first king after the unification of Italy (Napoleon was crowned here in 1805) and is now part of a World Heritage Site.

When you come to Geneva, Switzerland, everyone knows about the famous flower clock; but few people know about the English Garden where the flower clock is located. The English Garden, covering an area of 25,000 square meters, is the largest of the series of urban parks on the shores of Lake Geneva in downtown Geneva. In 1854, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Geneva's joining the Swiss Confederation, the English Garden was built on the shores of Lake Geneva on the north side of the old city. Another hundred years later - in 1955, the world's first flower clock was built on the southwest edge of the garden. The flower clock, with a dial diameter of 5 meters and composed of more than 6,500 bright flowers, has been ranked first in the world for decades and is deeply loved by citizens and tourists. Gradually, the flower clock has become a landmark of Geneva, while the name of the English Garden has been quietly forgotten. After getting up close with the big flower clock, we walked into the English Garden, where lush and towering ancient trees, spacious and lush green lawns, fountains with overflowing water, and quaint and elegant pavilions complement each other with the clear blue lake and couples walking hand in hand... It feels romantic and fresh, it's really great.
