I had long heard of the Shenyang Palace Museum and always wanted to visit it. Finally, I had the opportunity to come here. I queued up to enter the palace and slowly browsed through the various halls with the crowd. I felt the weight and vicissitudes of history. The palace remains, but the people come and go. The world changes, and everything has changed.

There were so many people and tourists that I didn't have time to take in many things. It's like a low-end version of the Forbidden City in Beijing. Many of the artifacts on display were discarded from the Forbidden City. Some rooms were off-limits, so people crowded around the entrances to take photos. There was no lighting inside, so the photos didn't look great. The architecture is still quite distinctive.

I was truly healed by the forest oxygen bar in this city. ✅ Goddess Square: The main landmark, with a musical fountain show on the hour ⛲️ ✅ Reservoir Dam: The best viewing spot around the lake, a filming location for the movie "The World," absolutely stunning at sunset. ✅ Black Pine Forest: Tall, straight black pines reaching for the sky; a short walk along the wooden boardwalk after getting off the bus creates great photo opportunities. The park is very large; I didn't get to explore the whole thing.

I regretfully missed the snow cake monkey show during the day, but a quiet stroll through the park still had its own charm. I wandered around leisurely, getting up close to the animals and encountering several rare creatures. The autumn breeze in Northeast China was so refreshing; it instantly relieved all work stress, a brief moment of healing.

Overall, it's pretty good. Once you get there, you can rent a car. I didn't know how to drive at first, but with my years of driving experience, I learned quickly. This saves energy. You can download an app, locate yourself, and check out the attractions and waiting times. Boys might like the Dinosaur Extinction attraction, as well as some thrilling rides. Some attractions require separate fees, such as the Ice and Snow World and the Petting Zoo!

We visited on October 15, 2026, catching the tail end of the autumn foliage season. Parking was convenient, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the park itself was beautiful to explore. Taking the sightseeing bus was also convenient. Tips: There are approximately 12 parking lots 🅿️. After ticket inspection at the entrance, you can drive in, which is very convenient for families with elderly members and children. If you park further away, there's a free shuttle bus. We didn't take it; we parked in P1, which leads directly to the park's walking trails. The streams were babbling, and the autumn colors were vibrant. Young people can enjoy hiking and enjoying the water, or walk on the very smooth main paths. A great place for a family trip! 👍

The entire scenic area is quite large. It's recommended to allow 2 hours for the Imperial Palace Museum, and the outer area also includes the Northeast Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall and the M+ Park. Therefore, it's advisable to allow at least 3 hours for the entire scenic area.

We took our kids back to China for summer vacation and had our first experience at a Northeastern Chinese bathhouse. We absolutely loved all the facilities and services. Children under 1.4 meters tall get in for free, making it incredibly good value for money. If we have the chance, we'll definitely bring our family and friends to experience this top-tier bathhouse in China!
