This time, I specially brought my family to pay homage to this monumental project on this special National Day. Years ago, I was fortunate enough to witness firsthand the historic moments of the Yangtze River closure, the opening of the five-stage ship lock, and the impoundment and power generation. I've always held a deep affection for the Three Gorges. This time, bringing my family to the site and sharing this glorious history with them felt especially meaningful. We chose the "two dams and one gorge" route – a drive there and a boat back – offering a truly multifaceted experience! Driving directly to the dam area, we were up close to the majestic dam. Standing on the observation deck, gazing into the distance, we truly grasped the immense power of this national treasure. Afterwards, we boarded a boat and cruised the Yangtze River. The river breeze caressed our faces, and the verdant mountains on both banks unfolded one after another, revealing a breathtaking canyon landscape. Standing on the deck, looking back at the dam from the river's surface, the mighty Yangtze rushing eastward presented yet another awe-inspiring sight. Entry and boarding are straightforward and hassle-free, all based on direct verification of identification documents, making it ideal for family trips. While enjoying the magnificent scenery of the Yangtze River Gorges, you can also educate your family about the construction story of the Three Gorges Project. It's more than just a trip; it's a vivid and engaging real-life lesson in patriotism. Seeing it with your own eyes is the only way to truly appreciate the grandeur of this national engineering feat. Before my first visit to Qingjiang Fangshan, my biggest worry was how to explore such a large scenic area. However, after walking around, I found the route wasn't complicated at all. 👌 Taking the cable car at the beginning saved energy, and then focusing on high-altitude activities in the middle, followed by leisurely views of the mountains and waterfalls – a very comfortable pace. 📝 Transportation Guide 🚗 By car: Wuhan → Qingjiang Fangshan Scenic Area (approximately 4.5 hours) 📝 One-day summer getaway guide (hiking + photo opportunities) 🌊 This is the easiest way to plan your first visit: Enter the scenic area from the East Gate → Colorful Bridge → Cable Car → Bawangfan Road. Don't rush at the beginning; save your energy by taking the cable car, allowing more time for the rest of the trip. The route will be much more spacious, followed by the infinity glass walkway → Seven-Tier Waterfall → Health Pavilion → Heavenly Ladder. This section alternates between natural scenery and challenging activities. Enjoy the canyon views from the infinity glass walkway, stop at the Seven-Tier Waterfall to relax in the mist, and continue the challenge at the Heavenly Ladder. Afterwards, take the glass walkway and the high-altitude bicycle. If you enjoy thrills, you can spend more time here. After that, walk along the Heavenly Road → Lovers' Platform → Wonderful Gate → Stilted Building → Lovers' Peak → Ancient Salt Road → Asking the Way Pavilion. The latter half is more suitable for a slower pace. Finally, pass by the Buddha Dust Waterfall and the Ancient Qin Waterfall in sequence, and exit through the West Gate. The entire route can be followed without detours. The scenery was beautiful, especially after the rain, like walking through a painting; the tour guide at the Three Gorges Dam was beautiful, had a lovely voice, and provided thorough explanations; the young man who accompanied us was professional, dedicated, and provided detailed explanations and made excellent arrangements! Highly recommended!

Wuluo Zhongli Mountain, the birthplace of the Dengba people, can only be viewed from a distance by boat, but the scenery is beautiful. It is a place with stories and legends. It is very beautiful. The whole mountain seems to be floating on the lake, which is extremely beautiful.

The tour takes approximately 3.5 hours. From the visitor transfer center, take a sightseeing bus to Tanziling. After descending Tanziling, proceed to the 185 Park, where you can take an electric cart or walk. From the 185 Park, take a sightseeing bus to the Interception Memorial Park. Finally, take a sightseeing bus to the Miniature Landscape Park (the park's exit), concluding the tour.

This was amazing, we loved the scenery, however, thete wad cpnfusion when we arrived to the gorge area. we did not understand we needed to buy a chairlift ticket. The tickets were 30 kuai per person, but purchasing was all in Chinese so the security guy did our registration. I agree with some of the other reviews, the climbs and descents were steep. But, it was breath-taking scenery. we loved our day.

I saw that Zhongwudang Scenic Area was pretty good online, so I contacted a farmhouse and went directly to the top of the mountain at night. In the morning, I was amazed by the rime in the scenic area. It was really quiet and beautiful, with unique scenery. It was an unexpected surprise [snickering]
