Tuo Luo Keng was one of the highlights of my Fujian trip. The view from above — the famous “Four Dishes and One Soup” — was breathtaking, and walking inside the tulou gave me a glimpse of real Hakka life: wooden balconies, families drying produce, and tea stalls. What made the trip extra special was our guide, Kathy. She explained the history in clear English, made everything easy to understand, and even brought us to a local pearl store. Unlike touristy shops, this place felt authentic with fair prices and friendly sellers. It turned the visit into more than sightseeing — it felt like a cultural exchange. 💡 Tip: Ask for Kathy if you want an English-speaking guide who goes beyond the usual tour. She made our day smooth, fun, and memorable.

The trip to the museum is a must see. One of the best museums I’ve been to and if WW2 history interests you then it definitely should be on your bucket list. George the guide was awesome, spoke excellent English and had a ton of knowledge. The trip to the village I could’ve skipped. It felt intrusive on the residents and is a long drive. Would rather have more time at the museum.


