Reviews: From Auckland: Rotorua Māori Village & Activity Combinations
Guest User2026-02-15
Our day trip to Rotorua and the Maori Village was tons of fun. Our guide, Jason, was fabulous! Full of information and extremely accommodating, continually making sure we were all okay. He kept us apprised about the schedule and what to expect next and how to meet back up with him. The Maori Village Tour was also excellent. Our guide, Phillip, was very humorous and taught us a great deal about the Maori history and culture. Included in the village tour was a full Haka and other performances that were very informative and entertaining. It was all very pleasurable. Although we had already experienced the Waiotapu Wonderland and the fabulous Redwood Treewalk separately, I'm sure they were fun as part of this tour as well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting experience Rotorua and learn about the Maori.

Great trip, lovely crew and very informative, shame the weather wasn’t sunnier, but that’s out of their control!
Reviews: Taupo: Maori Rock Carvings Kayaking Tour

Prepare for an 8km kayak round trip. We were suited up well and looked after during the journey. There is time for a rest and swim after viewing the rock carving. No toilet access for the entire 4+ hours so be prepared. Also recommend that you are not a first time kayaker to make the most of the experience.

Reviews: Auckland: Rotorua Tour with Mitai Māori Village & Wai-O-Tapu

I enjoyed the cultural immersion into Māori traditions—it was both enriching and eye-opening to learn about their history, performances, and way of life. The warmth and hospitality made the experience feel authentic and memorable. Following that, the thermal wonders of Rotorua were equally fascinating. From bubbling mud pools to steaming geysers, it was like stepping into another world shaped by nature’s raw power. The combination of cultural depth and geothermal marvels gave me a well-rounded sense of what Rotorua is all about: a place where heritage and natural beauty meet in a say trip
