▲ The Mohe Nine Curves and Eighteen Turns is a naturally formed pristine wetland, covering an area of over 2,000 hectares.

▲ Mohe, a border town in northern China, is located in the Greater Khingan Mountains, yet its mountainous character is subtly understated. The "mountain" presence isn't particularly pronounced here; instead, it's the striking birch forests that leave a lasting impression on visitors.

▲ The Argun River, the Sino-Russian border river, merges with the Shilka River flowing from Russia 15 kilometers northwest of Luoguhe Village in Mohe County, forming the source of the Heilongjiang River. From this starting point, the mighty Heilongjiang River flows eastward for 150 kilometers along the low valley at the junction of the Greater and Lesser Khingan Mountains. At a place called Hongqiling, it suddenly bends into a perfect Ω-shaped river bend. This 30-kilometer-long spectacular bend is known as the First Bend of the Heilongjiang River.

▲ The vast Wusulli Shoal faces Russia across the river and marks the northernmost point of China.

▲ Beihong Village is located in Mohe County, Heilongjiang Province, China, and is the northernmost undeveloped primitive village in China. Situated at 53°33' north latitude and 123°17' east longitude, it is further north than the so-called "Arctic Village" (53°29' north latitude, 122°21' east longitude), which claims to be the northernmost in China.
