I booked the evening prior (must book before 9pm), at 9:30pm the driver/guide added me on WeChat. At 10:35pm, the driver informed me the pickup time for the trip is 7am. Would be better if time is set earlier since we have to wake up early the next day. At 7am the driver picked us up on time, we were the last he picked up as we stay nearer to the highway to Lugu Lake. There were already 11 other people on the van so we were left with the last row, we had to sit beside strangers, the man beside me is a smoker (cigarette smellin shirt). We had 2 toilet stops and reached Lugu Lake at 10:15am. We went to 4 spots before lunch at a local’s home 12:20-12:55pm. Afterwards, we have 3 more spots including a boat ride viewing seagulls and the Visiting Marriage Bridge (走婚桥). Before the bridge there was a walkway with many shops. We depart back to Lijiang at 3pm, reached 7pm. Each stop was 20-30mins so there were not many time to experience the culture and shopping, will try 2-days trip next time.

The tour with 7 foreigners was so great^^ Master Ameifu is the best~ I've been on many one-day tours in China, and he was really good at explaining things through WeChat and driving~ I was tired so it was hard to watch the performance, but I think it was still a good experience^^

The day trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was a fantastic experience. Our driver, Ah Zhi, was patient and responsible, driving smoothly and quickly, and providing detailed explanations along the way. We saw the golden sunrise on the mountain, reached the summit at 4680 meters, and were also amazed by the beauty of Spruce Meadow and Blue Moon Valley. I hope to have the opportunity to come again.

Rachel contacted me in advance through email then through WeChat to explain the details of the join in tour. Then a group WeChat was created together with the driver.I was told that this was a Chinese speaking join-in tour without a tour guide and I understood. Everything went well until I was singled-out from the rest of the Chinese speaking group. However the driver still looked out for me through WeChat asking where I was and told me I should be where at what time. After finishing the Lijiang Impression show at about 1430 pm I was asked about a group meal which I declined. The driver explained that the others in the group were going to be late (when asked how late he said very late about 1930-2000 pm late)and gave me the option either to wait for them or go back home myself taking a taxi/bus. I opted for the bus but have to pay RMB15 for myself he said. He gave me instructions on how and where to board and get off the bus. I got off at Guchengkou

My guide was William. He was very knowledgeable, punctual and helpful. I found it very efficient to have a guide in the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain area, because it’s a bit complicated to know where to go to get the tickets and then the bus and then the cable car. With a guide you can just relax and not have to work it all out for yourself. Some areas, like the Blue Moon Lakes were very busy, and this isn’t even high season, but even more reason to have a guide who can get you to see the famous places and then help you out of the crazy crowds quickly. All in all I am glad I booked this tour.
