Reviews: Walking Tour and street food Tour Palermo / History and Food

This tour is more focused on history than sampling of food. We visited fountains, churches, the archive building, a square and the market. In the market we sampled two items, a deep fried chickpea flat bread and an arancinii and selected from an orange or pomegranate juice. Then at the end of the tour we selected from a gelato or a cannelloni.
Reviews: Palermo Private Street Food Tour: A Culinary Journey with a Chef

An absolute highlight of our trip to Palermo. Walking through the vibrant local market with a passionate local chef is an experience that awakens all the senses. Colours, aromas, voices, and flavours surround you as you discover the real soul of the city, far from tourist clichés. The chef guides you through the stalls with confidence and warmth, explaining ingredients, traditions, and stories behind Sicilian food culture. You taste incredible local products, meet friendly vendors, and learn how to choose the best ingredients like a true local. The atmosphere is lively yet personal, energetic but never rushed. It feels exclusive and authentic at the same time, like being shown Palermo by a knowledgeable friend who truly loves this city. This is not just a market tour, it’s a deep cultural immersion into Sicilian life and cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Palermo with all five senses. A must do!

Val was very friendly and welcoming. The tour lasted around 3 hours and ventures through the backstreets of Palermo. We left the tour feeling very full, you get more than enough food and drink and get to taste a wide variety of traditional Sicilian street food! It was delicious! Val is very passionate about what she does and is so enthusiastic. All the locals know her and are so friendly. We would definitely recommend this trip to give you a real taste of Palermo and the culture it has to offer!

It was a very interesting tour with fantastic views and impressions. Anna is absolutely lovely and told us so much; the four hours flew by. We would book this tour again anytime.

A hidden gem, and a bonus was the multilingual descendant of the Count conducting the informal tour. A window into life in Renaissance Italy!
