Bus pickup location was easy to find. Ride was comfy and matched the description. However, it did seem that they were a little confused on a non-Chinese national being on board during the check-in process; maybe a miscommunication?

I booked a car from Huanglong to Jiuzhaigou and back from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong with the same company. The drivers were different, but both were reliable. Driver 8682F on the outbound trip drove a clean and tidy vehicle, drove smoothly, and dropped me off at the hotel. Very good.

The ride was surprisingly effective - when looking for the exact bus, a woman with a clipboard spotted us right away (probably because we looked lost). The bus itself was fairly comfortable but very loud. People kept shouting and several people were coughing, sneezing, and even spitting on the bus so it was a little gross (even the tour guide was grossed out and called out the person spitting). Other than that, it got us where we needed to go. Please know that there is no English support whatsoever. The luggage carriage under the bus was extremely dirty so if you store anything below the bus, it will be completely covered in dust and dirt.

The driver arranged by Ctrip was a local from Songpan County, of the Qiang ethnic group, named Zaxi. He was a very cheerful, talkative, and enthusiastic person. He drove smoothly throughout the trip and introduced us to the local customs and culture of Jiuzhaigou and Songpan, as well as different religious practices. I really didn't expect to receive free tour guide service when I hired a car. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry when I got off the car and didn't get a chance to take a photo with the driver.
