Griffith Observatory is located on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. This white-domed building, completed in 1935, is a classic spot in Los Angeles for watching sunsets and night views. The observation deck offers an expansive view, overlooking the Los Angeles Basin, the downtown skyline in the distance, and the Pacific coastline, while facing the nearby "Hollywood" sign. At dusk, the sun sinks toward the coastline, and as night falls, the city lights gradually fill the entire basin, creating a particularly magnificent scene. Films such as "Transformers" and "La La Land" have been shot here. The museum is packed with highlights: the Foucault pendulum hanging in the central hall swings continuously, periodically knocking down wooden pegs on its surrounding rail, visually demonstrating Earth's rotation. The dome is encircled by astronomical-themed murals painted by artist Hugo Ballin. The lower exhibition hall features a model of the solar system's planets suspended from the ceiling, while a massive photo wall spanning tens of meters displays millions of galaxies, accompanied by a statue of Einstein pointing toward it. In the central dome theater, visitors can recline in their seats and follow the live guide to explore the stars and the cosmos. During daytime visits, travelers can observe real-time solar images through the solar telescope in the exhibition hall. On clear nights, the rooftop Zeiss refracting telescope is open to the public for stargazing, and millions of travelers have gazed at the stars through it since its construction. To catch both sunset and night views in one trip, it's recommended to head up the mountain early, allowing ample time for exhibitions and waiting for nightfall. Weekends and holidays draw large crowds, often causing traffic congestion on the mountain road.Los Angeles · 9 km from downtown

Exposition Park is an urban cultural park covering approx. 160 acres. The park brings together several important cultural institutions, among which the California Science Center is one of the core venues, housing the retired space shuttle Endeavour. The science center also features ecological exhibition halls themed around different ecological zones such as kelp forests, deserts, and tropical rainforests, showcasing the Earth's diverse ecological environments. Adjacent to the science center is the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, which has a rich collection of paleontological and mineral specimens, including the Gem and Mineral Hall, which displays a large number of precious mineral crystals and raw gemstones. The 7-acreRose Gardenis located next to the museum and is planted with over 10,000 roses; the fountain in the center of the garden and the loggias on both sides form a symmetrical, classical garden landscape. The LA Memorial Coliseum is another iconic building in the park, having hosted the Summer Olympics opening ceremony twice. The peristyle at the east end of the stadium features a classical architectural style, and the Court of Honor is located between the columns, with bronze plaques recording distinguished figures and historical events related to the stadium. The park also houses cultural venues such as the California African American Museum.Los Angeles · 5.7 km from downtown

What travelers say about Los Angeles

Ticketing is convenient and quick. The world's first Disney park is a bit old, and the castle looks somewhat shabby, but it's the first one! The fun atmosphere remains undiminished, and the food prices inside the park are reasonable, similar to those outside, and the taste is also good. Visiting both parks in one day is perfectly feasible.

The overall experience at Universal Studios Hollywood was absolutely fantastic! You could say there were practically no lines. Even the big rides only took about ten minutes (this is essential; otherwise, you'd get overwhelmed and dizzy from all the rush). They're also having the world premiere of Fast & Furious. However, being an older theme park, many details do look a bit dated (especially the Harry Potter area). Universal Studios is truly amazing! It's unique and allows you to experience the film sets up close.

The dinosaur and mammal exhibits were truly impressive. Although it's a county-level museum, it was built in the 1920s and has a rich history. It allowed us to learn about nature and also to see how Americans treated nature at that time.

The place is really worth visiting so much nostalgia comes flooding back. There is a great bus tour of the outside where you see all of the sets that they use and which shows they are filming using them. There is a Jurassic park tunnel which is quite thrilling when you go through it and also the friends and big bangs sets which you can take pictures. Just one thing for the solo travelers, I needed a friend as they helped me take a picture by blasting the light in my face to take the picture with my phone , it didn't come out good. I needed the side angle which the professional uses but unfortunately I was traveling solo. It was a great experience and I loved it!

We took our kids there, 3 and 5. Went to the science museum, natural history museum, butterfly exhibit, and then let the kids play in the shade of the rose garden. They were only interested in the shuttle itself for about two minutes, but there were other things to see. They loved the dinosaurs and butterflies. They were entertained for over three hours, which was good. Need to buy tickets in advance. Many things have separate admission fees. I only noticed that parking was $12. Excellent museum, but in the transportation center of the city, so adjust your schedule accordingly.

A very suitable place to enjoy the night view of Los Angeles, you can overlook the night view of the entire Los Angeles, but it is often crowded here, so you have to squeeze out a spot by yourself~ It was a bit foggy when we came, and the weather was not very good, but you can still enjoy a good night view. It is said that this is the filming location of the movie Lalaland. Friends who are interested can come to make a pilgrimage!

Managed to catch some big superstar for Lakers outside the arena. Pretty upset as NBA regular season is ended when I visited in June and no playoff games at the time hence I wasn’t able to watch the game in the arena but I’m sure I will be back some day again to watch a NBA game.

Lakers is the favorite team of most fans. From the Kobe era to the current James-led basketball empire, there is one less game to watch. The live viewing experience is definitely worth the fans to find out.
