Itinerary
-Please note that depending on availability, the lesson will take place in Studio A, B, or C inside Studio SOIL (shown in the photos). All spaces are within the same building.

Discover Japanese Ikebana not as something traditional or formal, but as a modern form of creative expression.

The workshop is led by a skilled instructor who won 1st place in the Freestyle category at the All-Japan Ikebana Competition (2024–2025).

Held at Oraqua Studio in Nihonbashi-Bakurocho, Tokyo, this experience offers a fresh and approachable way to explore ikebana through the blend of art, design, and nature.

The venue, Studio SOIL, is a creative hub where artists and designers from various fields gather. Just a few minutes' walk from JR Bakurocho Station, it is easily accessible from Tokyo Station, Akihabara, Ueno, and Asakusa, and within about one hour from both Narita and Haneda Airports — ideal for travelers exploring Tokyo.

The workshop is conducted in English, with friendly guidance throughout. While working with flowers and plants, you will learn the basics of composition, form, and color, guided by your own perspective.

The session begins with a short introduction to ikebana's approach to space and balance, reimagined for contemporary Tokyo. You will also learn about its history and philosophy, offering insight beyond a one-time experience.

With the instructor's support, you will create your own Ikebana arrangement, freely adjusting angles and proportions while exploring Japanese aesthetics.

After finishing, you may photograph your work in the studio's bright, minimal space.
You can take your flowers back to your hotel.

Authentic Ikebana tools such as scissors, kenzan (pin frogs), and textbooks are also available for purchase at the studio.

Whether you are interested in art and design or simply looking for something new in Tokyo, this workshop offers a creative and inspiring introduction to modern Ikebana.
