It was a great cultural immersion. Fans of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Poet Du Fu will enjoy this trip. The driver is experienced and friendly. The car is comfortable. The tour guide, Jane, is knowledgable.

I would say visiting Chengdu museum should be the first thing before you start your journey in Chengdu. Second and theird floor of this museum give you the insight of the long long history of Chengdu and what were then in China in general. If you start tracking the history dated 4700 years ago to pre Qin dynasty to the times of two Hans to Ming and Ching dynasties, you will learn and appreciate what is presented all in this museum. You do however need a very good guide to explain the details to you. I had my guide 桃子 who explained well in sequence in chinese and led me to understand better. If you are a traveller from a foreign country and would like to learn history of China in a broad terms in a short trip, get a guide who speaks in English to explain the times in different eras where China walked through the civilisation. You will be delighted and enriched.

Teacher Zhu's explanations were professional and detailed, with a comfortable pace. He naturally combined historical anecdotes with cultural relics, making the story of Zhuge Liang's life and the rise and fall of the Shu Han dynasty captivating. It was a fantastic experience.
