We took a tour with a Russian guide. Volodya was our guide. He told us interesting facts about China along the way. We shared lunch, which was enough since we're light eaters. The samovar was delicious. We also bought a cable car ticket from Volodya; we skipped the boat. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling around the city of Gubei; it's very beautiful in autumn. On the way back, after descending the wall, we sat in an open-air foot bath with warm water. It was wonderful, a relief for our feet after a long walk. Then we climbed up to the pagoda, which offered a stunning view of the entire city and the wall. And when it got dark, it was incredibly beautiful! We left on schedule and were dropped off at the same stop where we were picked up. We loved everything.★

The guide was so engaging that even familiar things became new. The Great Wall of China was especially memorable—it became the highlight of the trip. It felt like they truly cared about the tourists: they suggested the best photo spots, where to find authentic souvenirs, and how to avoid the crowds. I was lucky to see Qi Zai during my trip to Qinling. Its special brown‑white fur really surprised me. I watched it lie there slowly eating fresh bamboo. It looked relaxed and totally enjoyed its time. I will keep this wonderful sight in my memory.
