We had a wonderful cultural experience with Fancy, who speaks fluent French. She introduced us to the local market, the different seasonal ingredients, and the culinary traditions of the local people. Back at her home, in her cooking workshop, we each prepared an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert, which we enjoyed at a beautifully decorated table. The weather was lovely, so we were outside in the garden, which was very pleasant.
Since we didn't speak fluent Chinese, and my older parents didn't speak English, we really appreciated being able to converse with Fancy in French.
We highly recommend this tour; it was fantastic!★

I was recommended to do a cooking class in lijiang by some friends and I am so glad I did!! My guide William was amazing! We walked around the market for a bit and bought fresh ingredients before going to an authentic Naxi house. Everyone was so nice and welcoming so I had a fantastic time cooking and learning about Naxi and Lijiang culture. I would absolutely do this again and highly recommend everyone try!
