Reviews: Rio Jewish Heritage Half-Day Tour
Guest User2025-01-11
Ephraim is amazing for anyone who is interested in exploring and learning about Jewish Rio. He knows the history of Rio's Jewish community first hand, and takes great pride in sharing his knowledge and personal experiences throughout the tour. Ephraim is kind, warm and personable, and our time spent with him was special, informative and inspiring. Don't miss out on booking a tour with Ephraim, it will no doubt be a highlight of your trip, as it was for us!
Reviews: Discover Rio Little Africa: A Cultural and Historical Journey
Guest User2025-10-18
If I could give guide Ana Julia six stars, I would: a young, enthusiastic, passionate black woman, totally engrossed in the topic she was explaining to us. Her English was absolutely impeccable: fluent and very varied. I thought she'd spent time abroad, but instead she started out self-taught. She gave us a thousand examples, including current ones, of what it means to be an African in Brazil, both in the past and today. She also gave us how Brazilian politics, past and present, has interacted with the African population. It struck us, truly conveyed something to us, and we were interested. Three and a half hours flew by! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! She was also courageous in personally exposing certain statements: we absolutely agree with them, even if we're white and European... but you never know who you're dealing with. Truly commendable! In general, Little Africa and especially the history are worth listening to, and you learn so much about today's Brazil, the favelas, and more. We started Rio with this tour and did absolutely well.
Reviews: 3 Hour Rocinha Favela Walking Tour with a Local Guide

Incredible experience especially thanks to Edson, our guide; he not only took us safely through the favelas (starting from the best view of Rio we could ever imagine), he also explained the complicated dynamics of living in a favelas and most importantly he shared his challenging and interesting story with us. Thank you Edson, and Bruno.
