Reviews: Panama City: Historic District and Canal Tour with Transfer

We had an amazing tour with Daniel, he was incredibly accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke perfect English. It was great to experience the canal and Casco Viejo with a local. He also accommodated a request for a diversion to a specialty coffee shop that we had mentioned, which was very much appreciated. 10/10 great day!

We actually did this tour on January 1st, 2026, at 6:00 AM and didn't regret a single second of the lost sleep. Perhaps we were especially lucky. We entered the locks behind a car carrier, and a cruise ship was being locked through next to us. It was fantastic and an experience that's hard to beat if you have even a passing interest in technical matters. Everything was explained in a pleasant and calm manner. The food on board was great – although I was so excited that I hardly had time to eat it. I can highly recommend this tour; I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Wow, we had a great time! And, there were only 2 of us on the tour! Juan, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the ecology and wildlife of the park as well as the history of the canal and U.S. involvement in Panama's politics. On top of that, he has lived an amazing (still young) life. If you go with his company, be sure to ask him about how he got to where he is today on the way back to your hotel. We saw, and fed from our hands, wild capuchin monkeys, saw a tamarin monkey and a howler (unfortunately he didn't howl.) The capuchins will come onto the boat and sit in your lap if you feed them grapes (provided by Juan!) While we were feeding the capuchins, one of the monkeys accidently knocked Juan's cell phone out of his hand and into the lake. Phone lost but Juan did not miss a beat during the tour. Be sure to use bug repellent for the hike part of the tour. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel. Thoroughly recommend his company.

Nice, tranquil beach ⛱️ calm waters and soft sand. Really appreciated that the beach was not over crowded.

What a great tour, Jazz created such an educative and interesting adventure, and took so much care! We were a small group of 15 people. Right from the beginning, in the van in the way to the canal, Jazz explained so many interesting things about Panama City and the canal. From the boat, he showed us so many animals (everyone got a vernacular, rain ponchos were provided if needed). Between the boat ride and the hike, we stopped by a local empanada bistro, even vegan/veggy options were provided. The bus ride was very comfortable, too. Would 100% recommend.
